*Yrael wanders into the bar from the back corridor, dressed all in white. He carries with him his violin, and on a whim brought his recorder with him, as well. He makes his way to the comfortable chair on the left side of the fire and sits down, setting his recorder down on the table beside the chair. Placing the violin to his shoulder, he pauses a moment to decide what to play. He begins playing a light, lilting dance, the melody all glinting sunlight and new leaves, turning in a warm spring breeze.*

For some reason, his eyes look familiar. But Sara swears inwardly she has never seen him before...

She pauses, wondering again. She tilts her head. "Have we met?"

*he holds out his hand* I do not think we have been introduced, no. Please, call me Yrael. A pleasure to meet you, Miss....?

Where do you come from, if I might ask? I must admit I have a problem with my curiosity getting the better of me.

*still quite curious* Las Vegas... is that anywhere near New York, London, Florence, Italy, or Ell Ay?
I must admit, I have only been to Earth four times so far. Twice to Florence, Italy, and twice to Scotland.

Her head tilts again at his phrasing. "Forgive me if I misunderstand--you are music? What do you mean by that?"

I chose neither side, for I had neither reason to defend Creation, or to destroy it. For the my 'selfishness', as the Seven called it, I was punished. I was bound into servitude and physical shape for all of Time, seperated from that Music which flows free of the Charter, in the Free Magic which makes up my being. I was kept from giving voice to my Music for four millenia. Now I am free.

With a smile, she raises her mug. "Congratulations on your freedom, then. And I do not personally see how your choice was selfish. It seems you chose only what you could."

I believe it was because, since I had no allegience, they saw me as a potential threat. They had spent quite a bit of their power, put a lot of themselves into their creation and the Binding of the Ninth. I was stronger than any one of them, by myself. But the Seven of them together Bound me, through trickery.
*he waves a hand.* But that is past, now. I am free. Might I buy you a drink, Miss Sara Sidle?

Bar, my friend. An Atomic Cat for me, and whatever Sara would care to drink. My tab, if you would.

Please, continue to excuse my curiosity. It is rather ingrained. What do you do in your Las Vegas as a crime scene investigator, Sara? What sort of crimes do you normally investigate?

At his question, she sighs, taking a long drink. "Practically everything from minor burglaries to rapes and murders." At the mention of rape, her face briefly darkens. But she forces herself to smile again, determined not to be depressed this night.
"It...can drive a person to drink, at times. I truly marvel at what people are willing to do to one another. Never ceases to amaze me."

What brings you here, Sara?

"But now...I don't know. I like most of the people I have met here. And I feel safe." She shrugs slightly. "I don't often feel safe back home."

Tapping the Bar, she requests another scotch. "And you? What brought you here?"

"My older brother and I..well, we're not close. But we care for each other and have each other's back. Our parents were lost to us at a fairly young age."
