"Kinda noises?" Innocently.

*He sees right through her innocent look, being a master of them, himself.* Building noises, yelling, the like.

"Ah, yes, the men can be loud.

"Me, I've just been carryin' things."

That is odd, then. I was quite sure I heard your voice, as well.

"Really? What was it sayin'?"

I could not distinguish over the construction sounds, but it sounded indignant, or at least mocking.

"Couldn'ta bin me, then. I never mock," she deadpans.

*matching her tone* And you are never sarcastic.

"Sometimes I'm sarcastic," she concedes.

*Yrael looks shocked.* I'd never believe it!

"But you would be too if you'd watched a ninja whack his own thumb with a hammer, I'm sure."

*primly* I would politely hold myself to mocking laughter, rather than sarcasm.

"You underestimate the true greatness of sarcasm."

No. I have had long enough to know when to use it, and when to reserve it. Use it too much, and its greatness fades.

"I'll bear that in mind."

You could learn much.

*He looks regally pedantic. Like a cat, really. Amazing.*

No cat can look regally pedantic without leaving it's soft chest fur exposed.

So Mel tickles it.

"I'm sorry if I disturbed your sleep," she says, sincerely.

*He gives a muffled "ACK!" and flails. How undignified. But he does manage to capture her hand under his forepaws, in the end.*

Forgiven, of course.

She's impressed, ~~and didn't slow down her Slayer reflexes at all for him~~.

"I'm glad. I wouldn't want to get on your bad side."

*He grins, showing very white teeth, play-snapping at the fingers trapped beneath his forepaws.*

My bad side is on the inside.

The fingers struggle weakly. Surprising, that, Slayer strength and everything.

"Then I definitely don't want to see it. Seen enough insides, thank you."

*There is an odd smugness to his tone.* Not like me.

This outside you see is merely a shape.

"Still not wanting to see it," Mel confesses.
