Enter Loki.

Actually, please don't. Especially if it involves a chainsaw. Just...stare at him, since he's pretty. Or, you know, talk to him. That would work too. Because he just came into the bar and he's sitting just at the end of it nursing a cup of tea.

Pausing, Gil looks around then smiles. "Of course, sir," he says. "What can I do for you?"

There is, of course, no seat on Gil's side of the bar, staff not being encouraged to sit down while on Bar time.

He rounds the end of the Bar, placing another bowl of nuts and goes to perch on a stool a few feet away.

"Thank you, sir," he says. "Um - what do you need? No, Gods don't need anything from mortals. What do you want?"

Gil frowns and decides for once, to be honest. Get it over an done with!

"I am glad to accept your thanks on Yamino's account. I need to speak to him at sometime about the possibility of him taking a sous-chef position, if he would like to do so, as the pay is rather better and I understand he is contemplating matrimony. He is as far from useless as it's possible to get - although sadly our shifts don't coincide so we won't be able to cook together."

He looked at his hands then took a deep breath. "As far as your apology goes - I see no neded for it. Asar-Suti has explained that when a trick comes upon you it is in your nature to go through with it just as a fire burns or a shark bites. If you do not you are hurt." He shrugs. "I wouldn't have you hurt on my account but nor do I wish to suddenly find myself some in some humiliating and uncomfortable position for the amusement of your followers. I also do not wish to see the people I love hurt and humiliated. That is the true reason for my nervousness around you - not for any residual guilt over either having done you minor violence, or for loving David, which you'll agree is something easy to start doing and virtually impossible to stop."

"I wouldn't have thought you'd need to worry," Gil says. "Surely the only thing a God needs to fear is the displeasure of another God and, as you said, you have made your peace with Asar-Suti, and Lady Eris is on your side anyway. Nobody here need bother you - it's up to us to be careful that's all."

He gets up. "I'm glad we've spoken before the staff quarters are completed. You won't have heard but I invited you and David to a 'room-warming' when my new quarters are finished. It would have been awkward."

He smiles, a little tentatively, then, just to be friendly, tries out that greeting/parting Look he learned from that nice new gentleman, Mr Kinney who seemed very friendly indeed.

"I'd best get back to it," he says. "An ex-faun's work is never done."

"You're making a pretty good job of it," Gil assures him, "and we'll be pleased to see you there."

Then he accepts his dismissal meekly.
