Actually, please don't. Especially if it involves a chainsaw. Just...stare at him, since he's pretty. Or, you know, talk to him. That would work too. Because he just came into the bar and he's sitting just at the end of it nursing a cup of tea.

Liam reaches out to squeeze his shoulder, and doesn't prompt. He'll get the story out in his own time.

He blinks, staring at the hand on his shoulder. People don't often offer comfort to the gods. No one does, usually.

"Thank you."

Genuine warmth.

"She was...turned against me during that time. She wanted to kill me. In the end...she died. In my arms. Odin..."

And his body shakes with his hatred...until stilling. And his head drops.

"At least she died with a smile knowing I loved her."

"What was her name?" Liam asks softly.

"Hel."

He looks to Liam.

"She...loved Wordsworth. I was reading it to her when she..."

He looks away.

"Yes."

"I'm sorry."

He laughs, and it's a bit bitter and a bit self-depreciating and just the tiniest bit annoyed.

"Yes, well, I shouldn't dump my problems on you. No need to bring up the past. Merely..."

He looks at Liam then and his voice is in Liam's mind.

Always make sure she knows you love her. That was my mistake.

He looks away then.

"Would you like something to drink, then?"

Liam gives him a sad smile, and nods.

"Um... Guinness seems appropriate."

He nods and makes the order, passing it over a moment later. He sips on his own tea before looking at him again.

"Do you know David?"

"Yes, I do. I'm Charlie's brother."

He nods decisively.

"Ah, well then. That would...hmm.."

He looks over.

"Surprised you haven't heard of me then."

"Oh, I have. But David didn't go much into your history."

He nods.

"Probably because there's a whole bloody lot of it to cover. That happens when you're...well...as old as I am."

"Makes sense. Good to finally meet you, anyway."

He nods.

"And I you. You seem nice enough. I'm always on the lookout for good people. And contrary to popular belief...NOT to foul them up."

Liam blinks.

"Huh?"

"I'm a Trickster god."

"Ah, I see."

He nods.

"Yes...that. Bad press, lots of work, no love. It's honestly very irritating but...ultimately fufilling when those who claim you're the worst ever suddenly realize their life is a thousand times better because of you."

Liam grins.

"I can only imagine."

He sips on his tea.

"Well, we live to serve, I suppose."

He smiles at Liam.

"I'll be off now, though. David is a tricksy thing and I miss him horribly."

Liam smiles back.

"Okay. I'll see you around, I'm sure."

"Go with...well, my blessing at least. And...for your daughter. Be well."

And he's gone.
