(no subject)

Boromir descends the stairs, again without his armor and weapons except for his eating dagger--though he knows by now he does not need it. He feels better with it at his waist nonetheless.

He sits at the bar and looks around for a few moments before speaking. "Lady Bar? The concoction I had the other day--I would like that again, please."

Up pops waffles with honey and berries. Boromir puts a coin on the bar top and murmurs "Thank you" as he begins to eat.

"No, it doesn't. And there are infinite variations of it."

Asar-Suti smiles; another convert for coffee. And none other than Boromir, wheee!

Brormir - the almost familiar routine of introducing coffee almost made the small purple god forget what miracle he is talking to. Boromir!!

He reminds himself that he must not grin like a gingerbread horse, or the Gondorian warrior might think something is amiss.

"It's good, isn't it?" Asar-Suti grins.

Heh - Boromir looks much relaxed.

"Well, how has afterlife in Milliways been treating you, then?" he asks pleasantly.

Chatting with Boromir. Whee. Asar-Suti still feels like some silly fanboy.

"Oh, as I said, this is not the final afterlife, just a waystation - and I can assure you, the mayhem and angst will start at some point. There are some pretty unusual people here, and once you meet them and become involved in what they do, you will encounter the weird. In a massive way. You might sometimes wish the orcs were back. Especially if you do join security."

"Oh, many problems of that sort," Asar-Suti says. "People suffer all sorts of magical mishaps, for starters. Someone who used to be dear to me, for example, was once stuck in female shape for a week, which made him quite angry."

[identity profile] asar-suti.livejournal.com 2005-03-18 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, nobody could turn him back, although we have lots of wizards, witches, sorcerers and other magic users in this place," Asar-Suti explains. "The curse just had to run its course."

He shakes his head, slowly.

"But there shall be many things that you will be sueful for, and many people who might be going to value your friendship, as I know you," he adds.

Whoops, perhaps not the right thing to say - why should he know Boromir? 'I read the book and saw the movie' is probably not good at this moment. Especially as Boromir probably doesn't even know what a movie is.

Asar-Suti looks stymied.

Boromir - on the building site? How is he going to get any work done instead of drooling senselessly?

"Erm, we are renovating the staff quarters - I am sure that would be much appreciated," he finally says.

"We're past the stage of heavy lifting, though - but I am sure there are things that you can do. And who says that power tools would astonish you all that much; Gondor was a highly civilised culture, after all."

[identity profile] asar-suti.livejournal.com 2005-03-18 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, it has; most certainly. And it has other things that might feel a bit odd, but are quite obvious to common sense as well."

Asar-Suti sips his coffee. Does he dare say it?

"Well, when we finished breakfast, I might take you along to the building site, and you could pick something to do that you might like and feel you can do?" he suggests.

It feels ever so odd - inviting Boromir to do some DIY together...

Boromir. Building site. Wow!!!

What an honour. What a mismatching of concepts. Asar-Suti feels almost giddy as he finishes his coffee, returns it to the bar, and says, "All right; just follow me, then," and walks towards the entrance to the staff quarters.

"Here we are," Asar-Suti says, almost proudly, indicating to Boromir the people at work, the wallpaper and paint drying, the kitchen cabinets being hung.

"Don't mind the high-pitched howling noises, that's not a new sort of Nazgul, just power tools - they drive screws or drill holes much easier than by hand, but that is all. You've got a steady eyye and a steady hand - you might help with the last batch of kitchen cabinets being hung. It's obvious how they go all in a row, don't they?"

Boromir- Kitchen cabinets. Whee! It makes the little purple mind boggle.

"Perhaps you might work with those people over there who are already hanging cabinets," Asar-Suti says, indicating a group of random helpers that aren't actually there but let's pretend they are.

"From the way they are arguing, they do need somebody who has the eye to tell them if the tings are aligned with each other, and generally straight," he adds.

Asar-Suti smiles back. Wonderful - just what you'd expect of Boromir.

Boromir!! Wheee!

The small purple god feels strangely elated as he goes back to conjuring things for the others to build with. Now, three bottles of orange wall paint...
