(no subject)

There's a Creature in the bar.

His face is buried in one of several books, the rest being strewn on the table around him.

Anyone who feels up to getting that face un-buried can feel free to interrupt.

Delphinus shakes his head, looking interested. "We dolphins don't have anything like that, except for old storytellers. I thought they were clams."

Delphinus chuckles. "It's not a country, it's a creature. This form isn't my normal one."

The human-shaped dolphin nods, smile upgrading to a grin for a moment. "Yeah, this place is pretty neat, what with all the different people around. I still miss my pod- uh, family, though. The main reason I let myself be turned into a human was so I wouldn't be so lonely and bored out in the lake."

Delphinus shakes his head. "No, I never met it. I was the biggest thing in the lake that I knew of. When I was there, anyway."

"Well... it's a lot smaller than the ocean, of course, and when I was in it it was mostly frozen-over, and that made it hard to have much fun with jumping. I liked throwing rocks at the ice, though. Anyway, I guess it wasn't so bad; there's plenty of fish, and I enjoyed myself a lot more when there was someone around to play with."

He looks thoughtful. "I haven't been in there since I got changed into a human, though."

[identity profile] ecco-dolphin.livejournal.com 2005-03-19 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, probably. I remember how cold it was when I first got changed... I seem to be more sensitive to it as a human. But, if you want me to guide you around the lake when it's warmer, I'd be happy to."

He smiles, then looks thoughtful again. "I wonder if I should try and get myself changed back then. I've been a human for quite a while, long enough that maybe I'd remember the language if I were a Singer again."

"...oh, that reminds me," says Delphinus, slightly embarrassedly. "I'm called Delphinus as a human. What's your name?"

[identity profile] ecco-dolphin.livejournal.com 2005-03-19 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Delphinus smiles back. "It's very nice to meet you, too, William Damon von Frankenstein."

It's a long name to Delphinus' ear. Cetaceans don't have surnames, after all.

Delphinus picks up one of the others. He copies Damon and opens a book, looking at the strange black markings inside for a little.

"...you said you could get information from these things? How's that done?"

[identity profile] ecco-dolphin.livejournal.com 2005-03-19 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh." He peers at the book. "Huh. I wonder why I didn't pick up that along with human language."

[identity profile] ecco-dolphin.livejournal.com 2005-03-19 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
"So you had to learn it? How'd you learn?"

[identity profile] ecco-dolphin.livejournal.com 2005-03-19 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Interesting." Delphinus closes the book as he sets it back down on the table. He's quiet for a few moments. "Well, was nice talking, William Damon von Frankenstein. I think I'm going to go find dinner now."

[identity profile] ecco-dolphin.livejournal.com 2005-03-19 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Delphinus smiles. "Yeah, playing in the lake will be fun. See you around."

And the not'human walks off.

[OOC: Back atcha. *thumbs up* ^_^]
