The door opens, and River wanders in.

She looks to be in a reasonably good mood; at least, she's looking around the room, rather than staring at the floor or the air, even if her gaze doesn't quite settle quite normally. It's the tall boots today, rather than bare feet, under a loose floral skirt, and a couple of shirts in layers.

She thinks about this.

Then she heads for the bar.

*Brian grins smugly, having a potential convert to the Way of the Toastie*

"Cheese and houmous toasties," she tells the bar earnestly. "Good eatin'."

A plate of them appears. River plops onto a barstool, hooks her feet around the rungs, and stares intently at the plate.

Eventually, she remembers to try one.

See see see?

"No. Taste."

She has another one.

They're tasty.

Oh, right. That's what I meant. So do you have a name? Mine's Brian, but you can borrow it if you're running low.

She giggles, silently.

"Brian."

Wow, cool. I'm meeting a whole bunch of Brians lately, it's grand. We can start a gang and solve crimes and say jiminy! a lot.

"Wear nametags. We'd be incognito."

She has another toastie.

*he looks dubious*

I dunno, Brian's easier to spell...

"All say Brian. We could trade them."

She offers him the plate of toasties.

*he snags one and grins at her*

That sounds pretty cool. World'd be a better place with more Brians. Not many, like, Brian the Opressor's through history.

She thinks about this seriously.

"Simplistic plan for a utopia. Unworkable according to behavioral psychology."

Beat.

"I've heard worse."

Simplistic is good. You can't plan too much, need space to improvise and stuff. Small interpretive dance on the theme of Utopia.

*he performs it. It involves flailing*

River watches intently, with a tiny smile.

After a few minutes, she slides off her stool and joins in. Hers involves less flailing, and more pirouetting. She does it on her toes in her tall boots, grinning and spotting her gaze like a ballet dancer.

*eventually Brian stops flailing and watches her. She looks pretty happy. That's cool*

"Dance!"

She grabs his hands, and tries to pull him into the dance. River is fairly short and quite slight, so she won't really budge him if he doesn't cooperate.

Um, ladyBrian it was totally cool meeting you, but I have to go. Stuff to do, essays and stuff. But maybe I'll see you again sometime, yeah?

She considers this.

"Maybe."

She nods solemnly.
