*Meg wanders downstairs and into the bar, coffee mug in hand and tutu around her waist. And everyone subsequently dies of shock.*

"Well, in my experience the human sort can be just as bad as any kind of creature from a nightmare."

However, *Meg says wryly,* the human monster problems tend to be much more complicated than the nightmare-monster ones. Less easy to solve with a gun.

"I don't know, I've seen a few human monsters taken down with guns. But usually, yes, that isn't legal."

Not much good, *Meg agrees,* if you're going to get killed or carted off to jail yourself a moment later.

"Well it's helpful if you *are* law enforcement. But it's still not right."

*Meg makes a face.* We're not too big on the flics, in my part of town anyways - er, that's cops. French slang.

Kim nods. "I can understand that, especially with the way that the government keeps changing."

Exactly, *Meg says, and tactfully does not mention that her part of town includes several pickpockets, prostitutes, and generally un-law-abiding citizens.*

"People in my time are pretty accepting of police, well, in most areas. There are still some areas where the cops are more dangerous than the criminals."

In my time, *Meg says ruefully,* you've got two kinds of flics - the kind that are crazy insane bloodhounds, and the kind that take bribes and just don't care.

"I wish I could say those types didn't exist anymore but...well, at least they're in the minority."

*Meg grins.* I wouldn't have expected people'd change that much, in any case. Human nature stays the same.

Kim grins in return. "Elaine said they haven't changed since her time all that much, either."

After all, *Meg says, wryly,* we all manage to communicate somehow, right?

"Right, no one's been reduced to drawing and pointing to get something across, I think."

Except Echo, *Meg adds,* who couldn't talk.

"I have yet to meet Echo."

I haven't seen her around much lately - she's just got engaged, so I think she's spending time with her fiance.

"A lot of people seem to be getting engaged," Kim notices.

It's like a trend or something, *Meg agrees happily.* I get to bridesmaid lots.

[OOC: OMG so tired about to collapse. *grins sheepishly and apologizes profusely* Must sleep. night!]

"It's a good kind of trend, then. How many times so far?"
