*Brian's in the bar, and he's chewing something. He's wearing the slightly furtive expression of all toddlers chewing something they shouldn't be; angelic with a side order of mischievous and a smidgeon of guilt and fear of being caught.

It would appear he found his flatmate's stash of chocolate.

Megan grins back.

"Hi! I Megan."

Hi! I Brian. How's it going? Is your world as sunshiney bright as your hair? 'cos that would rock pretty extensively.

She nods happily, despite having understood about half of that.

"'Stralia."

You're... from Australia? Australia is sunshiney bright?

*he shrugs*

You want some chocolate?

Eager nodding. Megan always wants chocolate.

*he snickers*

Yeah, I thought as much. There ya go, duchess.

*he hands over a generous slab of German chocolate*

She takes it with some awe, and has to hold it in both hands.

"T'anks!"

So who do you belong to?

*he looks around curiously*

She turns, chocolate already in - and on - her mouth, and points at Liam. He grins at Brian and makes his way over.

"Hey."

Hey hi. I assume the duchess is yours?

"That she is. Made a new friend, Meggie?" She nods cheerfully, and Liam smiles before turning back to Brian and holding out a hand. "Liam Pace."

Um, hi. Brian.

*he shakes Liam's hand*

So whaddaya do? How'd you end up here?

*he looks wary*

Um, you're not gonna, like, try and eat me, right?

Liam blinks.

"Um. No? Human, former musician, current schoolteacher, ended up here through a door in downtown Sydney and I come back frequently, to see my brother. You?"

Human. Student. Slacker with a Past.

*he grins*

And I reckon that excuses me from doing anything for pretty much forever.

Liam grins back.

"Oh, probably. With a Past, huh?"

*he waves a hand, mouth full of chocolate, and mutters something about an Apocalypse*

Liam blinks at him.

"Didn't quite catch that..."

*he swallows and offers Liam chocolate*

Um, helped avert the Apocalypse. Or watched, or something. Ads did more of the actual averting.

Liam accepts the chocolate, which Megan is soon eyeing speculatively.

"Still impressive. I've never done anything nearly as interesting."

*he shrugs philosophically*

Everyone's cool. To an extent. Just like everyone's a total geek, to an extent. I bet you have good stories.

"Um... good by a certain definition, I'm sure. Misspent youth type stories", Liam answers with a wry grin. "I was a rock star. For about three weeks, nearly ten years ago."

Hey, I'm doing the misspent youth thing now, only not 'rock star' type misspending. Too much like hard work.

Liam laughs, but his heart's not quite in it.

"Well, trust me, Brian, the level of my misspending? Is not one you want to go to."

*he salutes*

Noted. I'll listen to stories instead. Better plan.

"Much healthier, too", Liam agrees with an apparently easy smile - then looks round to notice that Megan's wandering off. "Uh oh, looks like someone's got bored. Nice to meet you, Brian - I'm sure I'll see you round!"

And he's off chasing his errant daughter.
