Mouse is asleep in a booth. He's been there for a while, actually. You just haven't noticed. Normally he's awake and staring at the door.

He's been living in this booth since Shelley vanished.

"... Doesn't mean you get to be an idiot." Ace retorts, not entirely sure if she's on safe ground here, but figuring there has to be some laws for the not-dead. She's seen people who are supposedly dead with injuries around here...

Mouse ignores this. He's eating now. That's good enough. "Where would she go?" He looks... rather pitiful, actually. He's not at his best.

"Home? S'where most folks go when they're not here." Ace suggests, semi-helpfully. At least the guy's eating.

"No, no- she was dead too, she couldn't go home. And she just vanished. Right in the middle of the bar. She said she was hearing voices and it was pulling her away and she didn't want to go." Mouse speaks in run-on sentences when he's upset.

"Hey. Hey. Hey!" She breaks into Mouse's monlogue by brute vocal force. "Relax, mate. Same thing happened to me, almost, and I'm here alright, aren't I?"

Mouse shuts up. For a few seconds. "...you're dead and heard voices and got pulled away in the middle of the bar?"

"No... I'm alive and heard humming and got knocked out of the bar by the front door." Close enough.

"That's... not really the same."

"Tell that to m'boyfriend, who behaved just about like you are now." She snorts. "You two should get together, bond over being bloody idiots."

"She's not my girlfriend," he mumbles. ~~But he wishes she was. Maybe Ace can tell.~~

And after a pause: "Who's your boyfriend?"

Ace snorts at the first. With him acting like this? Close enough as makes no difference.
"Tim. Timothy Hunter. He's on security."

Tim. Mouse hates that name. Shelley tused to talk about a Tim all the time. Not Ace's Tim, though.

"Oh. Yeah. I, uh, met him. Briefly." It was right before the last time he saw Shelley. Woe.

"So you got a room, right?" Ace is not easily sidetracked.

Okay, she is. But she can be focused when she wants to be.

When she wants to be, and doesn't find something to be curious about.

Oh, nevermind.

"Yeah. Dead," he reminds her.

Don't think you can make him leave his booth, Ace.

Ace is a stubborn cookie. Even if she is distractible.
"So? More comfortable than the table."

"I'm waiting." What was it Ace said? 'Bloody idiot?' ... yeah, that's about right.

"You can wait in your room. The Bar can let you know the second she comes, you know." She informs him, drily.

"... I could also wait here?"

"Yeah, 'cause that's going so well for you." She snorts. "You'll do her no good being unrested and starved, you know."

"But-- who knows what she'll be like if-- when she comes back?" When, when, when, when, not if.
