Out by the lake: Elaine's sword lesson

*Alanna stands by the lake, humming and examining a set of throwing knives. Elaine's next sword lesson is scheduled to start soon, and Alanna keeps an eye on the bar door in the hopes that George, Svava and Archie put in an appearance as well.*

*He shakes his head.* You're the current end of the line, right? If it weren't for that mass Calling, you'd be the "real" Slayer after which the next would be Called. Again, why?

*Bigby comes full circle back to his original question.* Why?

Faith makes an exasperated sound, low in her throat. "We've had this conversation, Bigby. Murderer, remember?"

I remember. The real question is what it'll take for you to stop beating yourself up over it. You're not a masochist, are you?

"No." Faith snorts softly. "I just...can't help it."

*He sighs quietly.* For what's it worth... compare how people who knew you from "before" with the ones who only know you "after". *He takes a puff on his cigarette, giving her ample silence to think things through.*

"What, prison?" Faith shrugs. "Went there voluntarily. Coulda broke out anytime. Wasn't so much a hardship, just something I figured I oughta do."
