Out by the lake: Elaine's sword lesson

*Alanna stands by the lake, humming and examining a set of throwing knives. Elaine's next sword lesson is scheduled to start soon, and Alanna keeps an eye on the bar door in the hopes that George, Svava and Archie put in an appearance as well.*

Svava mentioned that Lecter sent Clarice to you. I find that highly odd, not that I'm complaining as she did us a great service. *She smiles.* Lecter is still claiming it was self-defense. I've tried to explain to him that he is being held for more than just attacking me. He refused to cooperate with our initial investigation and broke the terms of his release.

And what was he doing working in the kitchens?

He did? *He quirks an eyebrow.* Maybe the results weren't what he was expecting. Anyhow, how did she talk him into it?

As for the kitchens, I don't know. But that's not my domain in the slightest. Cooking, I'm told.

*Alanna snorts.* Cooking? I understand not this language that you speak.

They were talking casually, and I approached. Svava and Yrael arrived not long after. Lecter knew I was there, and I announced my intention to arrest him. Did you get my note about how he disappeared the first time I tried? Well, I warned him not to repeat that little trick, and Clarice finally asked him to submit. He did. *She rubs her chin.* I feel she might be his weakness, although I'm certain he would never agree.

*He shrugs and supplies the only answer he's got.* He's insane. *As if that explained everything. Which it may.*

I did. I was waiting for him shortly after that. That's all that happened? I spoke to Delirium too, thought she might've turned up. But... *he shrugs eloquently to complete his sentence.*

Finally, someone that agrees wholeheartedly. *Alanna smiles gratefully.* Delirium? There was an odd voice I kept hearing... it's possible. My eyes were locked on Lecter for obvious reasons.

*Alanna suddenly looks intensely uncomfortable.*

Bigby? Did you know he's a cannibal?

Voice? Did it sound like... *He loudly clears his throat.* ThIs? *In all likelihood, it's probably a poor impression and certainly one he wouldn't try to sustain for more than a few words. But one gets the impression.*

Cannibal? Don't think so. *He grimaces.* I'm sure the patrons will be thrilled to hear we hired one as a chef.

Yes, that's it! *Alanna shakes her head and smiles.* Del. I should have known. What's her interest in Lecter?

*He gives her a look.* He's insane. Firther, she's insane. All I know is, I'll take all the help I can get.

You're sure about this? Who told you?

...point. *Alanna rubs her nose.* Lecter did. He referred to himself as "Hannibal the Cannibal." Incidentally, he showed me a book that he claims details his story, including Clarice's involvement. *She frowns.* Jake passed the book to Svava to give Lecter. So, presumably, at least one person knows about him.

He has it in his cell. I'd retrieve it, but... not without additional security nearby. *She frowns.* I have not. It's been awhile since I've seen him. I will certainly fill him in as soon as possible.

*He shakes his head.* I'm sure the bar can produce additional ones.

*His face looks grim as he considers it.* Never mind, I'll do it.

*She nods.* Very well, Bigby. But please let him know I'm happy to answer any questions he might have? The important thing is we got him behind bars before he could hurt anyone.

Lecter, that is. Not Bernard. *She smiles.*

Thank you. *She grins and motions to Elaine and Svava.* I should get back to our lesson. I'll see you soon, Bigby. *Bowing swiftly, Alanna turns and trots off.*
