Barty's in the bar; he's walked down from his room, this time, instead of apparating. He orders a glass of water and a sandwich - nothing too expensive as he still hasn't managed to get any money - and sits down at a table to eat.

*At his table across the room, Tom drinks his scotch and keeps an eye on Barty.*

Barty's looking round the bar, ever wary and curious, and soon enough he sees Tom. He gives a nod.

"Lord O'."

*He nods back, in a cold but polite way.*

Crouch.

"I've had Security, an Auror, and the barman acting all funny with me."

He smiles, in a resigned, measured manner.

"Now, I wonder who could have been responsible for that."

*He smiles, as well.*

"Mmmm. I did wonder, too. But not for very long." He pokes his sandwich suspiciously. Why does it taste of turnip?

"Moving on. How are you today?"

"Because I'm a friendly soul who's always interested in everyone's well-being."

Oh yes, Death Eaters are known for their charity work, I've heard tell.

One corner of his mouth smiles.

*Tom's getting Officially Annoyed. He should know better.*

"Meaning I've always been good to my mother, Death Eater or not. And she's always been very good to me."

He cocks his head. "Why, what did you think I meant?"

*Tom decides to change the subject.*

"It goes well, thank you. And you?"

Just got back from my honeymoon.

"Oh? Didn't realise! Congratulations! Did you go anywhere nice?"

I created an island for us.

Barty looks impressed. That's magic even he can't do, and he can do quite a lot.

"That sounds lovely. Tropical island with beaches, palm trees, sunshine etc?"

*Tim smiles, thinking back.*

Oh yes. And a volcano and a little lagoon, some amazing trees so we wouldn't want for anything.... Paradise.

"Sounds like it! Can't say I've been out and about much myself. I mean, not to anywhere exciting. Not that the laundry room isn't exciting, it just lacks a bit of charm. Also, no volcanoes."

"Um. No, I meant the residual effect of the ones back in my world. There are Dementors in the forest?"
