Suti tries to be comforting; PeeJee fangirls in the Joker's general direction
Writing hasn't helped.
Drinking hasn't helped, more's the pity.
Working hasn't helped. Watching ChooChoo Bear frighten the irritating hasn't helped.
So PeeJee is back at Milliways, this time with a potted plant. She'll watch for Kitt again tonight, and if he's still gone... well, she'll have something to leave for him. But first, to the Bar. "Bar, can you give me... a card and one of those florist's card-holder pitchfork things?"
During the pause left where someone with a voice would have raised an eyebrow and asked if that was a technical term, PeeJee notices a notice.
The requested items appear. "Thanks," PeeJee says, still looking at the note, thoughtful.

Asar-Suti staaaaares at her.

Tact? What tact?

And waiting and worrying and hurting.
In a year, I may not love you.
It had been fair warning, really.

He remembers Charlie waiting for Bartleby, and imagines PeeJee must feel similar.
"Can I get you a drink? Ice cream? A lewd movie? Anything to help you take your mind off fretting? Because really, there's nothing we can do now."

And it was probably past time to tell Karr.

He gently puts his arm around her for a moment to signal emotional support despite his matter-of-fact attitude, and then steps back with a smile. "So, what can I conjure for you?"
no subject
Well, meeting the Joker has been a distraction..."You really don't have to, sweetie. If I wanted to be distracted, I could've stayed home to watch ChooChoo engulfing birds."
no subject
"Are you here with the intention to sit here and fret on purpose?" he then akss, looking innocent.

"I'm here because I don't know how time is moving in Xanth and... waiting at home just made me worse, really. I want to be here when he comes back, if I can."
Pity she's missed him coming and going due to being passed out on the couch-- and looking the wrong direction.

"So, you intend to stare at the door until he walks through it?" Asar-Suti asks. It doesn't sound like a very brilliant plan to him.

"I won't run you off, but I can't promise I'll be much company. I was just going to write, or read."

Asar-Suti seems determined to be helpful in some way.

It sounded interesting.
Besides, it's not anyone's canon yet.

"I am sure that is not about African wildlife," he says.

Asar-Suti smiles at her with a little shrug - there are still things that are new to the purple god.

"Grains? Corn?" he ventures, trying to make sense of what his brain gives him.
"Telly ou what - when you've read it, can I read it as well? I think I like detective mysteries. But I really have to go now; Gil's coming off his shift soon and ---"
A slight purple blush, and then the purple god of magic gives the purple-haired girl a brief hug, and scampers off.
[[OOC: Because his mun must work early tomorrow, and sleep now, woe! See you around.]]

((Dude, no problem, Hat needs a nap like you wouldn't believe.))

She does, however, wish Aubrey were here.
Because damn.
"I think you've mistaken me for someone else. I'm PeeJee.
"Nice haircolor. I can never get mine that shade."
no subject
He rips out a small lock of hair and holds it out to her, trying to show her that it's even green down in the roots under the skin.

Okay. Okay. Ask if she can keep the chunk of Jokerhair as a present for Aubrey or run screaming into the...
Early afternoon. No one ever runs screaming into the early afternoon. "It suits you, though."

This is the part where PeeJee either gets killed or proves herself amusing.
"My best friend is a huge fan of your work. Would you... be willing to sign an autograph for her?"

The Bar produces an eight-by-ten glossy of the Joker, grinning cheerfully. "I'd offer a thigh," PeeJee says apologetically, "But Aubrey and I have this agreement about how the survivor is and isn't to display the remains of whoever goes first, and she'll want this on her wall somewhere."

PeeJee briefly considers this as a valid plan of action.
Luckily she's distracted by the message-- and beams. "Oh, she'll love that. Thank you so much. The next time I feed some drunken asshole his own beer bottle, I'll do it thinking of you."

It's really a very good salute.
"Yes, sir."
You know, it's really quite possible PeeJee's boyfriend was right about her making dangerous friends.

She needed that.
And she had the best birthday present ever for Aubrey. Or the best 'when I get home' present ever, because her birthday was too far away.
