Alain comes in from the staff corridor. He's carrying his tobacco pouch; at the bar, he acquires coffee and a popkin (that's a sandwich) to go with it.

She's very drunk.

Of course, the pile of empty bottles on the table in front of her is a small clue.
He approaches, waiting to see if he should be amused or worried. "Goodeven, Faith."
no subject
She's rather proud to have remembered the greeting despite the alcohol.

He glances at the bottles, and his eyebrows go up a fraction. "How do you fare?"
no subject
A beat, while she looks down.
"...except that I'm on it, still."

He eyes the bottles. There are lots of them, and not beer or wine, either. "How many of these have you had?"
no subject
Beat.
"You have pretty eyes."
no subject
Six of those. Gods. Drunk off her ass, indeed.
no subject
Beat.
"Seven would be better."

Beat.
"Except the part where it is. What?"
Blink, blink.

"That's right. Very philosophical. You ponder that while I get some water or coffee or something, all right?"
He sets his plate and coffee on a bit of the table that isn't covered by empty bottles.

Faith sits, holding one of her empties, and hums.

Beat.
"Are you hungry? Somebody left food and I couldn't eat a bite."
no subject
Sober you up a touch, he does not say. Instead, he deposits both the coffee and the water in front of her, and perches on the edge of the other bench to sip his own.

This is a bad night for her intestines.
"You're very sweet, you know. And pretty. In a manly way. But pretty."

"...you don't think I'm pretty too?"

Faith beams at him.
"Cuthbert whistled at me once, on account I was wearing a dress. I don't think he realized I was a girl, before that."

Beat.
"Besides, of the two of 'em, I'd be more likely to go for her."

"Long days and pleasant nights," he begins, then pauses as he takes in the empty bottles, the coffee, and Faith's general demeanor.

"Hi, Kooshbert!"
no subject
Then he eyes Faith. "Been talking to Lilly, I see."

He slides into the booth, eyeing both Faith and the empty bottles. "Tell me Al helped with at least some of those?"

Then, to Faith, "What are you celebrating, that calls for six of these?"

Beat.
"OK, I started out drinking because he wasn't and I was worried, but now it's celebrating."
And she nods, loftily, with a 'so there' look on her face.

"Alright, note to self: never, ever challenge a Slayer to a drinking contest. And yar, what's that about Charlie?"
