Lilly wanders over.

"What up, sai? I've got a question about Milliways."

*Tim glances up.*

I have an answer.

Lilly grins.

"Excellent. So, Meg Giry and I are throwing a party this Saturday out by the lake. It seems to be cool with the bar, I still have to talk to Bernard, but the question I have for you is about this Phantom guy. Meg's a bit worried he might try to crash the party in a murderous way. How dangerous do you think he is?"

*Tim turns this over in his mind.*

I don't think it'll be an issue with a lot of people there.

Lilly grins.

"Yeah, I thought the guest list might help. Still, I just want to make sure everyone has a nice, non-deadly time. Oh, I'm Lilly, by the way. In case you didn't remember that from the sign."

No, i remembered.

*He shrugs*

I have a good memory.

"Hey, awesome. Mine used to suck, but it got better after I died. Less distractions, I think. So do you have a name other than guy in charge of security? I promise to remember it if you tell me."

*Tim offers a hand.*

Sir Timothy Hunter. But there are those here who would call me..... Tim?

Lilly shakes his hand firmly. Then pauses, as the accent and the title sink in.

"Nice to meet you, Tim. Do you like tea?"

*Tim gestures towards the table, where his cup is sitting.*

Who doesn't?

Lilly sighs and puts her head down on the bar.

"Just me, Meg, Kitty and Puck, I guess."

Her voice is somewhat muffled.

*Tim shrugs.*

Tis an english thing.

Lilly sits up and nods glumly.

"Yeah, I know. If the English people I knew weren't so cool, I'd go all Tea Party on this place."

She smiles.

"Thanks for the info, though. Hope to see you at the party!"

*Tim waves.*

I'll bring the wife.

"Hey, Tim. I think I need a badge." It's Barry, trailing his gift from Tim along with him.

*Tim offers up a simple copper badge "Milliways Bar Security"*

There you go. Wear it when you're on duty, or when ever you need it. How goes the investigation?

"You know, to date, I don't think I've ever actually been on duty. I respond to things, and do what's needed, and investigate from time to time. But I haven't been on duty. So I'm not sure what the protocol is." He smile sheepishly.

"The investigation is moving in fits and starts. I'm totally unsure if the two Phantoms are both from the Disc at this point, as Eska says the headless rose is not a Discian breed. That muddies things up.

"But it's getting there. At least I'm certain that magic is involved, and that we have two players. And that the one you are signing with is really a realtively nice, if somewhat warped, guy."

*Tim strokes his chin.*

Not a discian breed, but it is discian magic. None that I've seen in use besides for the flowers.

*Tim shrugs.*

Pretty much, anytime you don't mind being bugged to work, you're on duty.

Barry clips on the badge.

"Hmm. Not bad. Though if I wanted to be a pain, I'd insist on having a special detective's badge when my team is in place." He smiles to show that he's not at all serious.

"Given that I want peole to bother me about the Phantoms, I guess I'm on duty right now."

*Tim nods.*

Ayup. Its just a good way to reassure people we have security in the bar.

"Which is a good thing. Given all the fun people visiting now.

"Let me ask you one more question,a nd then I'm going to bring this back to my room. Great gift, by the way. Thanks." And he puts the case down.

"Once the detective squad is up and running, how much autonomy will I have?"

If you're on a case, i expect weekly reports. If something important comes up, I really would like a note in the office at the least. And of course, i want to know when cases do come up.

*Tim thinks.*

Beyond that? I'd prefer if your group contacted mainstream Security for arrests, so as to avoid problems. Anything else is all you.

"That sounds reasonable. Should have expected paperwork. Just like old times for me.

"The only thing I'm really thinking about that's a little out of the ordinary is using outside help for some things. Like using Ray as a tech consultant. Or maybe looking to people outside security to keep an eye on things when no one expects them to. But nothing beyond that, really."

*Tim nods slowly.*

Just let me know ahead of time, if you can? Especially when using non security personnel for watching and such.

"Then consider this official notice that Ray will be the first person I go to with technomagic questions, as a consultant only. Somehow I think his proton pack might be noticeable." He smirks.

"And that's it for now. I'll keep you posted, about the Phantom and anything else, boss." And off he goes with the case.

*Tim waves.*

*Andrew stops by Tim's table.*

Hey, you got a minute?

*Tim glances up*

For you? Always, whats up?

*Andrew glances about, and lowers his voice.*

Xander told me last night that Joker's been stalking him. Threatened him with a crossbow.

Can you jail the psycho now, or is that not enough of a threat?

*Tim shakes his head and sighs.*

Not yet, sadly.

Frelling dammit, Tim --

*Andrew's fists clench.*

Do we have to wait till he pulls the trigger on someone?

By the rules of the bar?

*Tim sighs.*

*Andrew leans forward, bracing himself on his palms flat against the tabletop. His voice is low, and tightly controlled.*

Were you there the last time they dueled for Anthy?

*Tim glances toward the staff wing.*

No Andrew, i wasn't.

Apparently Meg was going to challenge Roland when he won Anthy. And that would've screwed up some plan Bernard and Roland had. And she wouldn't take no for an order.

So Bernard put her in the cells. To cool off, he said.

So don't talk to me about the rules, Tim.

*Tim rubs his temple.*

Right now, i gotta obey him Andrew. He's the boss, I hafta do what he says. He makes the rules.

Right.
I'll talk to him, then.

But -- you know that caught-out-of-time spell you do? Can you ... I don't know, kind of have it ready?

I mean, not to drag him off to the cells. Just to ... stop him. If he looks like doing something unpleasant.

*Tim nods.*

I'm performing in the show. So is Dick Grayson. Mel is on official duty, and I've ordered everyone who can be there to be there.

*Andrew nods curtly.*
