So, there's a Dawn in the bar.

She's... doing Dawn things.

Like, eating pizza and fries and having soda.

She might get some of those paradoxes later.

There's a Faith in the bar too.

Stealing one of Dawn's fries.

And looking quite pleased with herself.

"Hey." She stuffs the fry in her hand, into her mouth and reaches out to half-hug Faith. "How've you been? Haven't seen you in a while."

"Uhm." Faith hugs her back, looking awkward. "I've been...OK. You?"

She shrugs. "Just hanging out here. Kinda need to go home, just haven't yet. Kinda don't wanna."

"I know the feeling," Faith says wryly. "Believe me."

"Huh?"

Faith is silent for a minute, considering. But Dawn won't thank her for protecting her, especially if she ends up finding out from somebody else instead.

"...I fell into a Hellmouth. Last time I went back."

"Ouch." She winces. "Dare I ask how long you were gone? And why no one told me?"

"It was a week, almost, here. But...longer. Two and a half years for me. I don't know why nobody told you."

She gives Faith a Look.

"Because no one every tells me anything. It's like this cool game that I'm not allowed to be a part of."

Faith gives her a Look right back.

"Oh yes. Faith dove into a Hell dimension to save the world and is being tortured in unspeakable ways. What a fun party. Don't tell Dawn, that'll spoil the whole thing."

She smirks. "I didn't mean it like that and you know it. You know I would've been worried. And the 'game' I meant was being a 'grown up'. It's like I'm not allowed to be because I'm still younger than everyone else. Younger doesn't meant stupid."

"I know it doesn't. And I know you didn't mean it that way." Faith shrugs faintly. "I'm not gonna coddle you, Dawn, and if you catch me doing it without thinking, feel free to smack me."

"Not asking for coddling. God, between you and Angel, someone might think that I say I want to be treated like an adult just so I can be treated like a kid instead. Earth to everyone... not so." She sighs.

"That's not what I meant...I know you're not asking for it, that's why I'm telling you I won't be. Geeze, Dawn, what crawled up your ass and built a nest?"

"Nothing." She sneers and sips her soda.

"Just want to be included. You know?"

"Yeah." Faith nods. "And you will be."

"When? When I'm too old to care?"

Dawn's kinda havin' a bad day.

Faith rolls her eyes and gives Dawn a level look.

"Dawn. I'm from the future, but not that far in the future. Trust me. It'll happen."

"Uh, aren't you from a whole different timeline too?"

"Well...yeah..."

"So, the Dawn in your world might be different from me."

She shrugs.

"It's all right. I'll do something. Be President or something a lot less politically involved."

Faith boggles.

"...President Dawn Summers? I FEAR."

She narrows her eyes at Faith.

"You should. I'll institute Beat Up Your Big Sister Day or Slayers Do All The Chores Day."

"Good thing I don't have a little sister," Faith says, and steals another of Dawn's fries.

A smirk.

"You could pretend I'm your little sister and let me beat you up."

"Beating B up wouldn't be enough for you? You'd have to take out your aggressions on me too?"

"I have a lot of aggressions."

Faith rolls her eyes. "Fine. You can beat up on me anytime you want."

"Patronizing. Not fun."

"Yeah, well, talk about beating up a Slayer..."

"Like I could actually beat you up anyway." She smirks.

Faith looks smug.

"Maybe if I was sick."

"And it was during that whole 'test the Slayer's real power' thing."

Faith shudders. "Losing my powers once was enough, thanks."

"So, you actually went through that whole thing? I thought they'd gotten rid of it after Buffy proved it was kinda dumb."

"No, that happened here," Faith says. "I thought I told you? It was when...Angelus..."

"Oh, yeah, right. Sorry - brain on Sunnydale."

"Don't worry about it. Happens to me too."

Faith swipes another fry.

"I'd tell you, help yourself, but I get the feeling you're having more fun thinking you're stealing them."

She points to the fries.

Faith smirks. "Shouldn't have them sitting out all helpless if you don't want 'em swiped."

She glares a bit.

"If I didn't want to share, I'd be hiding in a closet."
