Peter sits at a table, reading a book and drinking a... is that a frappucino?

I think it might be. Don't tell Lilly.

[Summary: All three threads paused at the moment - but Peter and Kitty finally really talk. Peter learns Kitty's a mutant, and they discuss Kitty/Edmund. Peter and Lilly... are Peter and Lilly and talk about everything and nothing at the same time and never stop. Peter and Caspian very much DON'T talk about any of their problems, as they are British Narnian.]

"Are you sure you're a Pevensie?" She eyes the frappucino like it might be evil. Like evil porn.

But Peter shall never be told of evil porn.

"Born and bred," he tells her.

"Word to the wise. Don't spend too much time with Lilly Kane. Really. You'll thank me."

"Aw, but she's sweet. In a rebellious teenaged way that would drive me nuts if I had to teach her, but since I don't..."

And she might be smirking slightly at the frappucino now.

"I do teach her," Peter informs Kitty. "It's not as bad as one might expect, really."

"And yet, I don't envy you at all." She sits next to him, sipping at her coffee. "So what do you teach her?"

"Sword fighting, believe it or not. Also bits of horsemanship, whenever she's around and feels like being inquisitive."

Peter sucks at his frappucino. Addictive, those things are.

"I believe it. Though the idea of her with a blade frightens me."

...And Peter still doesn't know that Kitty's a mutant. Heh.

"Were you a teacher in London, too?"

"She's doing quite well, actually. I think she might use up all of her seriousness in training, which would explain a good deal about her behaviour the rest of the time."

Nope, he sure doesn't. Mutant powers, schmutant powers.

"I was just finishing school, actually. I may have gone into teaching eventually. I'm really not quite sure."

She laughs. "Scary, yet possible."

"Ah." She blinks, and does NOT ask how old he is. "Were you glad to be done with school?"

Lilly grabs a seat next to him.

"What up, sai? Still-" her eyes land on his drink and an absolutely delighted smile comes across her face.

"Peter Pevensie, is that a frappucino?"

Peter attempts to block it from her view.

"No, of course not! Well, maybe. Yes."

Lilly beams, and throws her arms around a probably extremely startled Peter for a quick hug.

"That's awesome, Pete! You're restoring my faith in British men. I knew this was going to be a good day."

"Ah," he says weakly, patting her on the back. "Well, I'm glad I played a role in fulfilling your expectations for the day."

Lilly laughs.

"I wasn't expecting this, silly, that's why it's awesome. You're having an unexpected frappucino, I got unexpected sex, it's like secret bonus day!"

Peter chokes on his frappucino.

"Did you. Well. Ah. That's... nice."

He extracts himself from the hug.

"The sky was very, um, blue today."

Lilly giggles.

"Doesn't fit the unexpected theme, Pete, but that certainly is very true. I can tie it in, though. Nathan has blue eyes."

"Nathan, hmm?"

Peter files that information away for later usage.

Over from his corner by the fire, Caspian looks up from his (third) glass of wine and sees a familiar face.

He could use a familiar face.

However, not wanting to intrude, he simply raises his glass towards Peter and grins at him.

Peter grins at seeing Caspian and half rises, making a gesture that says, in a complex British sort of way, 'Shall I join you, or would you like to join me?'

Caspian, being British Narnian, gets it, of course, and so comes across the room to join Peter at his table.

He brings the bottle of wine.

"So, we meet again," he says, smiling. "How are you?"

"I'm doing rather well, Caspian. And how are you?"

He smiles back, obviously pleased to see Caspian.

His smile turns wry.

"I am well."

He takes a sip of wine.

"I saw your horses the other day in the stable. Really fantastic, Peter--they're marvelous." He grins. "And I hear you're training your Duncan yourself."

Peter raises an eyebrow.

"Your expression does not completely corroborate your words, Caspian."

But he smiles at the mention of the horses.

"Edmund and Lucy are training theirs as well, I believe."

Caspian chuckles slightly.

"I seem to have gotten myself into a situation where I'm not entirely sure how to proceed.

"But perhaps it will resolve itself. Yes, the girl who keeps the stables, Susan, told me about your plans for them. Where on earth did you get them from?"

"Any help I can give you is yours for the asking, Caspian."

But he lets the subject drop until Caspian wants to bring it up again.

"A gentleman brought them for me, in return for payment to be agreed on in the future. Indeed, given their quality, there are few prices I would not pay for them."
