Michelle "meets" Audrey and finds out more about s4; Palmer stops by for a chat about Behrooz

Last night, Michelle spoke to Dina Araz and got a lead. Today she's sitting at a table and writing in her notebook.

She has a diet soda and a basket of onion rings.

She however has no idea what happened yesterday with Nita. Feel free to bring her even more bad news.

Michelle looks down at her notes, there's no mention of Audrey's husband or any operation. "Your husband was in surgery at CTU?"

"Because he got shot trying to save Jack's life."

Michelle looks at her in confusion, "Your husband is a field agent?"

"Paul is...was a business man."

[chelleuncurled]

Michelle wonders if she can blame Audrey's inebriation for the fact that she can't quite follow the story.

"But he was with Jack?"

She nods. "Because he thought Paul was a terrorist, but he wasn't. It's my fault; I shouldn't have led them on like that. Paul isn't a terrorist. I should've known that. I should've...not separated from him. Everything was a mistake..." She begins to sob and takes another sip of her vodka.

Michelle's trying to make sense of what Audrey's saying but she feels like she's missing vital information.

So she's upset about her husband, not about Jack, or maybe she's upset about both...

"You told him Paul was a terrorist?"

"No! They found some kind of connection between one of Paul's companies and Habib Marwan. CTU thought he had been in contact with him, but he wasn't."

"But if Jack thought Paul was a terrorist...was there an attempt made during the interrogation?"

"What?"

[chelleuncurled]

"I can't think of any way Paul could be put in the position of saving Jack's life..."

The more she hears about this day in the future the more she wants to curl up in her bed until it passes.

"Because he and Paul went to McLennon-Forester to try and see if they could find information that linked them to Marwan. The men there tried to stop them and set off an EMP to prevent Paul from getting any information from the computer, but he and Jack escaped with the information. But then McLennon-Forester sent their own private troupe to try and kill them as they were trying to escape."

Michelle just staaares. She wonders if she's drunk and part of her wants to check her drink for tampering.

"Oh."

Audrey simply begins to sniff again, and finishes her off her vodka. "I should get another one of these."

"I'll get it," Michelle stands up and returns a few moments later with a drink. She isn't sure what she can do for Audrey at the moment but Michelle understands that sometimes something happens and you can't face it.

"Thank you," she says sadly, wrapping her fingers around the drink.

"I heard that you were kidnapped. I'm relieved that you're okay."

She nods and sniffs.

"Did your dad make it out okay?"

She nods again.

Michelle's at a complete loss - this isn't her area of expertise.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that Audrey."

She shakes her head and sips at the vodka. "Words are kind of pointless now."

"What do you mean?" Michelle looks at her with concern.

"Because they are. Words won't change what happened to Jack and Paul."

[chelleuncurled]

Michelle nods, she knows that but felt the need to say *something*.

"I can't even imagine how you're feeling."
