Mel is in the bar.

Sitting at a table with her boots up. Luckily she's now changed T-shirts because the London one? Was starting to smell.

*Tim shakes his head.*

Naw, one like mine.

The grin becomes a smirk, and then her mouth opens in a positive smile

"Love one."

Because goddamn it, she misses flying.

*Tim closes his eyes... then one pops open.*

Any particular look?

*Tims is black witha flaming pentegram.*

"Red," promptly.

"Oh, can you stick this on it?" she rolls up her sleeve to reveal her tattoo. "I've no idea if it means anything, but I'm kinda used to seeing it around."

*Tim nods.*

All right.

*And his other eyes closes... and FOOM! There is a rug floating before her.*

You can fold it up and stick it in your pocket if you need to store it. The benefit of being knitted.

Mel beams. And, grabbing it with one hand, swings herself up on it like a pro.

"Rocketship," she declares, hovering neatly on it as she stands. "I haven't been on one of these for years."

*Tim hops back on his.*

We need to start tournaments.

Mel rocks back and forth slightly, as she shifts her balance and tries to get a feel for it, then spins around in a tight pivot.

"Oh yeah. We do. I was never competition standard, though."

I doubt i was either.

*He winks.*

plus, you have slayer strength and reflexes now.

Still testing the board for maneuvrability, Mel tries altering height. It's surprisingly similar to the rocket boards she's used to.

"Y'know, I've always been strong and fast. I don't think I was called in the traditional way."

She executes a neat flip and hovers again, beaming.

*Tim watches her from his own board.*

Really? Thats rather cool. And unique.

"Yeah, special me," Mel says, a little blankly, as she hovers again, testing responses to minor weight shifts.

"Could be wrong, of course. But I don't know how long I'd been the Slayer before they tracked me down, so.

"I told you about how I'm the first for over two hundred years, right?"

You did say that. The demon must've been locked away.

*Tim rises as well, matching her shifts. She seems to know more about floating boards then him.*

Well, she used to have one. She's remembering how to use it, not teaching herself.

"The whatnow? Oh, the Slayer demon thing," she sounds uninterested. Rocketboarding's more fun. "I guess."

*Tim shrugs.*

Interesting stuff.

*And he takes off, zooming up and over a rafter, upside down before landing back next to her. Yes, he's showing off*

"If you're interested in that kinda stuff," she shrugs, hesitating only a sceond before copying his maneuvre, only with a little less grace.

Slayer grace is a myth.

I'm always interested in anything magic.

*Tim watches with a smirk.*

You're good.

She shrugs.

"Toldya, usedta have one as a kid. And it's the kinda thing I'm supposed to be good at."

*Tim snickers.*

You're supposed to be good at boarding? I never knew Slayers were supposed to be valley girls....

"To be what?

"Nah, I mean the physical stuff. For Slaying and for grabbing," she pauses. "Maybe I could take this on runs when I get home. It'd definitely be useful next time I get thrown off a building."

*Tim nods.*

Especially with the compactability.

She nods, and grabs a rafter with on hand, pulling it off and rolling it up against her thigh with the other. She places it in a deep pants pocket, then fishes it out again, shaking it flat and dropping down on to it.

"Works well," she smirks. Yay for new toys.

*Tim claps his hands.*

"Will do," Mel says, although whether she'll actually encourage more people to match her shiny, woollen new toy is yet to be seen. "Thanks, Tim."
