Things seem to come in pairs.

A few days ago, Kon got bad bad hair. That's one half of the pair. And today, the other shoe dropped.

It all started off feeling rather tired when he woke up, and it just went... on. And worse. And now he feels like crap. Enough crap that he has to wonder if he could actually be sick... but that's impossible, right? No, it must be something else.

Too bad he can't think of that something else as he sits slumped in a booth. He'd really like to know what this is.

"Oh." Yeah, Kon kind of haven't thought of that. Give him a break, his brain isn't working right. "So I'm just... -better- at avoiding it?"

"Probably, thanks to your Kryptonian genes." He wasn't sure which was better -- getting used to being sick or only being sick once in a while.

Kon would prefer the 'never getting sick at all' route, but apparently that's not going to happen, so just getting once in awhile was fine by him. "So all I gotta do is wonder -what- I have."

"Probably some kind of virus." He figured it was nothing serious, or at least from what he'd seen so far, that's what he deducted. "You should probably get some bed rest, you know."

"Yeah." Except now he knew how Tim had felt the time -he- was sick. Yeah, he could go home, but it felt like sitting here with Tim was a lot more comforting than an empty bed. "Just a -little- longer?"

Tim tried to resist, to tell Kon to go back to Smallville so that Martha could make him some miracle-medicine. But he just didn't have the heart to say no to that request. Sighing, he continued to stroke the other boy's hair.

"All right. Just a little longer."

"Thanks," Kon says, closing his eyes again. After a moment, he smiles faintly. "'Least that mess is gone. Wouldn't want that on my head -and- being sick."

"I don't think you'd care much about the hair when you're sick. It's not like anyone's really going to see it when you're resting in bed," Tim said with a chuckle and shake of his head.

"Yeah, but -I'd- know it was there." Maybe it made Kon shallow, but he could rest easier when he knew he didn't look like he'd stolen an unfortunate wig.

"You might be too busy worshipping the porcelain gods to even be thinking about that," Tim said with a stroke of Kon's hair. Not that he wished that upon the other boy, but it was just a thought.

Kon makes a face. "Don't even -say- that." It was like... cursing him or something.

"It's just a possibility," Tim said with a brief laugh. "But since you don't have the hair anymore, it's not plausible."

It was quite possible he'd still be throwing up a lot, though. "Oh man," Kon says, as he suddenly realizes. "I so have a test tomorrow, too."
