(no subject)

In spite of his reassurance from Tim the previous day, Andrew did a quick dino-check at the bottom of the stairs anyway. Fortunately, the raptor was nowhere to be seen, and so our intrepid Woobie moved safely to the bar, where he ordered some turkey and dressing.

Mmmm, comfort food. Come say hello, make him smile. Or just try and increase his heart rate.

[Summary: 1. Andrew meets Guybrush, and is surprised to learn that he is an actual pirate and not just dressed for a party. They discuss the miracle of television, and Andrew breaks it to Guy that the world is round before directing him to have Ray explain it and then running away in dino-phobia. 2. Andrew meets Angelina (Who mistakes him for Raph- Yes, it's still happening), and is not the world's best conversationalist. Lithium can do that to a guy.]

"Yeah, nicely put."

He sits back. He's never really thought about any of this before. It just... Worked.

"I'll teach you a few set ones sometime, if you like. Then you can be ready to invent them."

Guybrush is smart enough to sense doping, if only just.

"Great," he grins. "Just let me know when you're up for it."

Guybrush checks himself.

"So, ah. All of that was about me. Your turn."

He waits.

"...And...? What do you do?"

[identity profile] amightypirate.livejournal.com 2005-06-12 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Guybrush's eyes widen. "Oh, I love the theatre. What's it like?"

[identity profile] amightypirate.livejournal.com 2005-06-12 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
He nods. "I know how hard it can be. I've always wanted to become a musical showman."

"Y'did? Doing what?"

He orders another orange juice. He's conserving his mug supply.

He squints a bit. "Can't say as I've heard of it. Is it a company?"

He thinks.

"And what's a commercial?"

Guybrush obediantly follows, and watches Andrew use the strange device. He immediately boggles, and looks closer.

...No, no small things inside, it's a flat image. Like a moving painting, with sound. And laughter over the top? He knows there's some humour to what everybody's saying, but... What on Earth is that place they're in?

"Is it voodoo? And... What is this, on the screen? It all looks so strange... What's everything made of? I can barely see any wood."

He looks around.

"Wait. Actually, what's stuff here made of?"

[identity profile] amightypirate.livejournal.com 2005-06-12 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
He looks around and touches insert common plastic object here. "This smooth stuff. Half of the world seems to be made of it on that... TV."

[identity profile] amightypirate.livejournal.com 2005-06-13 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
He looks back at the TV.

"What's the date? Not here, obviously... Where you come from? You're used to these things so."

He blinks. "Wow. I thought the world would end by the 1800s."

He tugs at his beard a bit. "I'm from Mêlée Island™. It's part of the Tri-Island area."

It's roughly in the Caribbean, one might assume.

"Two thousand and four. Man. Long time. That explains all this stuff. Have they got things that can safely travel over the edge of the world, yet?"
