Seth's in the bar, stretched out across a booth playing a one-sided game of checkers. It would be much more fun with two people.

"Ah, Earth. I've been visiting there, very recently. I was in New England. A lovely group of people, the Puritans. If somewhat exasperating, at times."
He pauses, watching the board.
"I'm from Amber. 17479211 After Founding."

"Seth, I'm a prince. Do you honestly think I"m going to assume you're a snob?"
He picks up one of the little circles, and jumps over two of Seth's.
"My last visit was a few hundred years ago, so they might not be there any more. At the time, Europe was discovering the new continent. The Americas."

"Ah well. They had it coming, I suppose. Their reaction to the Quakers was essentially juvenile."
He stares at the board for a moment. He moves a piece.
"I know how you feel. I have perfectly dignified aristocratic brothers, who look down on me for 'consorting with the masses.'

"Your brothers sound a lot like my step-grandma Julie Cooper. If it were up to her we'd put this big plastic bubble around Newport to keep people who don't meet her standards from coming in."

"You've got them pegged. Well, most of them, anyhow. It's why I don't spend much time with them. Which is why they concentrate extra hard on sucking out my soul or lopping off my head and whatnot."

He moves a piece, and looks up at Seth.

Giving Random one last smile, Seth climbs out of the booth and heads over to the bar.
