(no subject)

Seth's in the bar, stretched out across a booth playing a one-sided game of checkers. It would be much more fun with two people.

He smiles.
"Ah, Earth. I've been visiting there, very recently. I was in New England. A lovely group of people, the Puritans. If somewhat exasperating, at times."
He pauses, watching the board.
"I'm from Amber. 17479211 After Founding."

Random snickers.
"Seth, I'm a prince. Do you honestly think I"m going to assume you're a snob?"
He picks up one of the little circles, and jumps over two of Seth's.
"My last visit was a few hundred years ago, so they might not be there any more. At the time, Europe was discovering the new continent. The Americas."

Random sighs.
"Ah well. They had it coming, I suppose. Their reaction to the Quakers was essentially juvenile."
He stares at the board for a moment. He moves a piece.
"I know how you feel. I have perfectly dignified aristocratic brothers, who look down on me for 'consorting with the masses.'

Random winces.
"You've got them pegged. Well, most of them, anyhow. It's why I don't spend much time with them. Which is why they concentrate extra hard on sucking out my soul or lopping off my head and whatnot."

"In theory, yes. I have run into a brother here though. He might have a few things to say about that."
He moves a piece, and looks up at Seth.
