*LTD¹, Thom wanders back into the bar, soaking wet. Still, he looks remarkably calm somehow~~, because he hates to make sense~~.

He blinks.

"Most people aren't used to that sort of thing. I mean, I've read about it-- the way time passes here, I mean, and all the other phenomena. It's string theory: at some point, everything's possible. Since this is the end of the universe, it's the perfect place for everything to be possible." He does not mention any duels or a certain inverted castle.

"But most people still don't really believe it."

*Thom blinks.* Not everyone has that kinda background.

He gives him an owlish look. "What kind of background?"

Ah . . . scientific, I'm guessing.

*He points at Miki.* I've totally got this down now. Earth?

"Oh! Sort of ..." He smiles shyly. "I'm only a student."

And he nods, although he doesn't understand exactly where the accomplishment lies in determining his planet.

Well, you're a bit young for much else . . .

He frowns, though it's a little more like a pout. He tries to stop the pout, really, but it doesn't quite work.

"I guess so."

*Thom giggles.* Well, I suppose it could be different where you're from. I wouldn't know.

"You wouldn't?"

A thought hits him.

"So where are you from, exactly?"

*Thom bows, dripping.* His Lordship of Trebond in the kingdom of Tortall.

Pleased to meet you . . . again.

Miki bows back, because it seems like the thing to do.

"Tortall ..." he muses. "That sounds like something out of a fairy tale."

"I'm sorry," Miki says, looking a little sheepish. "I didn't mean to offend you. It's your home."

Oh, if you wanna offend me you're going to have to try harder than that.

So what's it called, where you study? I learnt in the City of the Gods.

Miki smiles. "I won't.

"I attend Ohtori Academy. It's a boarding school in Houou, Japan." He pauses, then say curiousl, "City of the Gods? Which gods are those?"

Depends. I was a Master of the Mithran Light, personally.

"Mithran Light?" For now, the "was" escapes his notice.

The Gift, mainly. It's a lot of fancy talk.

Miki has come to a conclusion, but it's one that doesn't exactly compute.

"Magic?"

That'd be me. Or it, or . . . both, either.

"I see," Miki says, although he's not sure that he does. "You learned magic in a school?"

In the Mithran Cloisters. Close enough, I guess.

Miki nods, but is considering the idea of magic.

"What does it do? The magic, I mean. We don't have much of it on ... my world."

No, of course End of the World doesn't count.

Whatever you want it to do, if you're strong enough, and stubborn enough.

He smiles slightly.

"Even revolutionize the world?"
