The front door opens, and Caspian walks in. He does not look so different from usual, except that he is pale and his eyes are red-rimmed and burning with tiredness. His left forearm is bandaged, and his face is set, his expression unreadable. Getting a tea, hot water and some bandages from the bar, he goes quietly to a chair by the fire and methodically unravels the bandage from his arm, revealing a rather nasty gash that runs up the length of his forearm, red and inflamed.
He begins to clean it with a bandage dipped in the hot water, and to rebandage it as best he can.
Caspian stares into the flames, his tea forgotten.
[ooc: My first over 100-comment! Breaky!Caspian talks first to Raven, who offers to heal his arm, but ends up bandaging it instead, as per Caspian's rather unusal request, and then they discover a common acquaintance in Susan Pevensie; next, to C--the Green Arrow, who, thanks to the marvels of Milliways, also binds his arm for him (this will be a running theme here, people), and they talk about the boat. Next up is Peter Pevensie, who attempts to have Moiraine heal Caspian's arm and is annoyed when Caspian asks her not to, and they talk about Rilian and his enchantment. Lysistrata comes over and helps Caspian out, which is good for him and angsty for her.]

"Oh, yes. Quite alright. I just cut myself, that is all."

"Trying to bandage one arm with the other is rather awkward."
no subject
*He inspects the cut to make sure it's clean, and then dabs at it a bit, himself, just to make certain.*

"Just the bandage would be much appreciated," he tells his new doctor. It doesn't make much sense, as it is an awkward, painful cut, but he gives no reason.
"I thank you for your aid."
no subject
*He winds the bandage gently, muttering very softly, only so the wound does not turn septic.*
May the pain of memory fade as the wound itself does, sir.

He approaches, eyeing it warily. "Sir, are you alright...?"
no subject
"Quite alright, although I seem to have cut myself."
"Cut" seems a bit of an understatement.

"Not much," he admits. "I thought I would try cleaning it a bit and changing the bandage."

"That would be most helpful. I thank you for your offer."

As he approaches, he notices the gash on Caspian's arm, and his smile turns to concern.
"Caspian? What happened?"
no subject
"I cut myself," he says quietly. "Cut" isn't even the word. The gash is long and deep, with jagged edges, and it has turned an angry red, but he offers no more information and goes on mechanically dabbing at it.
no subject
"Say not so, lord. 'Tis far more than a cut. Let there not be secrets between us."
no subject
"I...was working, on my boat. Careless. My hand slipped, and I cut myself with the saw."
Caspian is nothing if not careful at work.
no subject
"It's not like you," he says quietly, falling back into his normal speech patterns. "Is something wrong?"
no subject
"Rilian."

"Here, let me look at that."

He clearly hasn't been taking care of it.

She hurries over to Bar, requests and gets some rubbing alcohol, some salve, bandages, and hot water.
"This is going to hurt, so brace yourself."
With one hand she holds the hurt arm's wrist, and begins cleaning out the wound first with hot water, then began to liberally pour alcohol over the cut.

His voice breaks the silence, husky and quiet. "I...thank you, Strata."
no subject
"It's nothing. You're hurt and I can treat wounds, and you're my friend. The least I can do.
She applies the salve carefully, then bandages the wound carefully but securely.
"Apply this salve once a day, and rewrap the wound. You did a nasty job on it, but I think you will be alright."
She sits on the chair next to him, still holding his hand, and looking at him intently, searchingly.
"Come, let me shoulder some of your burdens. The Gods above know I'm strong enough.. And don't give me any of that heroic crap, because you know I won't take it."
The look in her eyes is fiercely protective.

"I...saw Rilian. The other night.
"My son."
That should be a joyous occasion.
"He...did not know me."
