Val's at a table, an action figure (of wee!Anakin from Episode I) on the table beside her notebook and a pen. Surprisngly, for once, she's writing without any other books around her. Strange.

Petra has been meaning to talk to Val for a while, but the time never seemed quite right. Somehow though, today seemed like a good time to introduce herself.

"Valentine?" Petra asks quietly.

Val looks up from her notebook with a bit of a start. It might be noted idly, that Val is convinced that this particular action figure in front of her looks like Endr. File that under strange.

She regards the girl with a bit of a curious, albeit appraising eye. "Yeah, I'm Valentine, but call be Val. Full name's a bit absurd. Have a seat."

"Val then. I'm Petra Arkanian." Petra says with an odd formality as she slides into a seat.

Val smiles. "Petra. I've heard of you." She eyes the little plastic figure, and shuffles that, her notebook, and pen into her apron, almost in one swoop. "It's nice to actually meet you. How long have you been here?"

Petra examines Val minutely. It wasn't in her nature to trust people, but if she'd come to trust Bonzo she could at least hide her doubts about this woman.

"If I'm reading time right, a few months. Though for me, I've spent a bit of time back at the school." A bit meaning a full year without a visit to this rather intiresting place.

"Time's strange around here. One of my friends thought he was in his room for a few days, but it was months for the rest of the bar." Her tone is gentle, entire manner kind. There is very little, if anything which sems not to trust, unless perhaps the overly-gentle kindness.

She pauses, as if she is going to go on, but falls silent.

Petra nods. She's learned quite bit about the weird times of this place.

Val takes a deep breath. "Petra, it's obvious that you're still at battleschool, neh?" Intsinctively, she falls into some of Ender's speechpatterns. "I'm from your future. Quite a few years, and some strange happenings later in your future." She pauses. "I can't say much about what's happened. Well, let me rephrase that. I could. Frell, I could tell you everything that happens in detail, but I'm not exactly sure if I should. I'm still figuring that one out." She bites her lip and looks at the table. "I don't even know why I'm saying all this, sorry."

Petra examines Val for a moment then smiles lightly. "I'd rather not know what's going to happen to me. Then I can still make myown mistakes and let things flow as they should."

Val cracks a small smile. "Personally, I think that's the best. Even the tiniest alteration of the future could screw up something major." Nice hypocracy, Val. Really nice.

Petra nods.

"I agree. That's why I keep going back to the battle school."

And somehow, it finally hits her. Her voice is quiet when she eventually speaks. "I'm not going back to where I was. I don't know if this is a good thing or not. It's a choice I made, because, well, I feel like I belong here, and than I can do more good where I'm going." Or at least that's what she's telling herself.

Petra doesn't know this girls story, and she's not all that sure that she really wants to. She has to make some answer though.

"This is a rather nice place."

Petra pushes herself up and out of the chair. "Nice to meet you, but I belive it is time I took myself away. Talk to you later."

Time to go play with the sims a bit.
