Entering the Bar
Aeryn Sun entered the bar with all the grace of a stampeding buffalo. She had been travelling for weeks, but none of that mattered now. She had wanted to get away and here she was, although she wasn't entirely sure where 'here' was. Never being one to ask for help, she approached the counter and sat on a stool. She had been staying sober to pilot the Prowler and she was tired of thinking straight. This looked like a bar and she needed a drink. What more could a girl ask for?
[OOC: This is my first time in Milliways, so if I'm doing anything wrong please let me know. Also I'd appreciate it if anyone could tell me anything important I need to know. Thanks, take pity on a poor amateur! ^_^]

"Good afternoon."
[ooc: oooooh. Aeryn! big fan here.]

She nods in acknowledgement and tries to figure out how to order a drink around here.
[OOC: Sorry that took so long, my sis was bugging me. I hope I do her justice then :)]

"OK, you are obviously new to Milliways. The Bar is sort of automatic. Just ask it for a drink, and you get one. The first one is on the house. The rest, you have to pay for.
"I'm Barry Allen, and I guess I'm going to be the first to welcome oyu to Milliways, the bar at the end of the universe." He hopes that didn't sound too much like an ad.
no subject
"Milliways, so that's what this place is called. I've never even heard of such technology. How is it activated? Speech?"
Aeryn was never one to admit not knowing something, but she was completely lost and had to swallow her pride for a change.

"Magic is a bedtime story told to foolish species or invented by Delvians to brainwash their own kind."
no subject
"Well, perhaps for the moment, you can just consider this technology so advanced it seems like magic. Since I doubt you need an explanation with your drink. But either way, if you want a drink, just order it." He smiles, and hopes that the waves of temper coming off her don't mean she'll be an angry drunk.

She turns to the bar with a noncommital grunt and says in a rather too loud voice:
"Ras'lak."
She picks up her drink and sips it gingerly, unbalanced by all the 'magic talk'.
"Tastes fine anyway."
no subject
"Good. You can get anything you want here. But there are rules for the Bar. And since I'm on the security staff, I probably should tell you them."
no subject
"Security staff? Rules?"
She's beginning to wonder if this is the sort of place she shouldn't be, but in the end shrugs it off. This could be a chance for a new start.
no subject
"Ah. Right. It is a little odd for a bar to have a staff like this, but this is an odd bar.
"Anyway, we only have three rules. The first is no violence. You start anything, a fistfight or worse, and we will toss you in the cells. You can keep any weapons you have, but don't use them inside.
"Second, no business. That means that whatever you do out there, stays out there. In terms of money, and in terms of people. No grudges are allowed to be played out here.
"Third - and I mention this only as it's a rule, and not because I really think we need to tell people - no sex in public places. The bar has lots of rooms for privacy.
"Any questions, miss...?"
no subject
"Just one. I heard from someone else that at the lake you can do things that you can't in the bar. Is violence allowed outside?"
She smiles in way that could only be described as 'creepy'.

"I'm guessing you're new? I haven't seen you before, and I spend nearly all of my time here. Welcome to Milliways, the Bar at the End of the Universe. Congratulations, you've gone mad! Or will do very soon, just as soon as you get a taste of all the people here."
no subject
"Never heard of it." She replies curtly on both accounts.
"I didn't even know there was an end of the universe, doesn't it go on forever?"
no subject
"That's one of them. I wouldn't try it unless you want to end up in a coma or something."
"Apparently, the Universe doesn't go on forever," Atton remarks dryly. "If you don't believe me, take a look out the observation window, where you can observe the end over and over again. If you go out the back, there's a large lake, where you can do all the things you can't in the Bar."
no subject
"Believe me, at the moment a coma doesn't sound half bad."
She sniffs the drink experimently and wrinkles her nose.
"Perhaps I'll try some of those things later, I plan to stay here for a while at least. Does this place have rooms too? I don't really mind what kind of mess they are in."
no subject
"So, where and when are you from? Who knows, you might even be from my reality. Not likely, but you might be."
no subject
"Not let you leave? I don't think anyone, especially not a bar, could stop me doing what I like."
She shows her teeth briefly for scare effect.
"I'm not really from anywhere. I was born on a command carrier. How does one go about ordering one of these rooms and how much?"
She glances surreptiously at her wallet.
no subject
"Trust me, the Bar can stop you from leaving. The door just won't open to your home."
"Just order a key from the Bar," He gestures to the Bar. "And it'll put the cost on your tab, you'll pay it off, some way or another."
"So, was it you do when you're not in strange bars?"
no subject
This guy sure was nosy, but Aeryn wasn't giving things away that easily.
"I'm a soldier," she fixes Atton with a piercing stare "What about you?"
Failing to mention the fact that she is no longer a soldier was remarkably easy. Perhaps she should have pretended to be something more ordinary.
no subject
"Does it really matter?" For somebody who's as nosy as Atton, he's also rather closed off to questions. "I can't get back to my reality, so it's all really unimportant."
no subject
"I see. Well then my past is also unimportant."
no subject
"I was a soldier once. I'm not any more." That's pretty much the most she's going to get out of him for now.

I wish I could play right now but I can't- Angelina is out of commision untill my sister gives birth, and Drusilla, my other pup, is not the welcoming kind.
Something not important, but you might want to know, is that when we had a Crichton, he was semi kinda dating Angelina. So when she finds out who Aeryn is, she probably won't be very friendly.]
