Let's pretend, for the moment, that Chloe's been up in her room. Because it's safe there, away from she!Tony and she!Ryan. But now, guess what, she's back downstairs, wandering around, looking for a place to sit and be comfortable with her nachos.

And if you aren't a harp-bearing harbinger of DOOM, she might just speak to you.

Milliways is so very eldritch.

Oh, look. It's "Audrey Raines."

Sans shoes and a half-foot of hair.

Chloe notices a woman that looks similar to Audrey Raines sitting there, but this woman is missing the long hair Audrey had.

Chloe gets closer and notes that it is in fact Audrey Raines. And she is not happy.

"Having a bad hair day?" Chloe puts on her most sympathetic smile.

Ryan grimaces. "Sort of."

"I think you looked better with long hair." See, Chloe can be helpful! Even if it means annoying people!

"Who cut it?"

Ryan twists his face into a frown.

"Long hair's a pain in the ass. Chris cut it."

Erm. Ok.

"Oh.. Yeah, I grew my hair out once, about half way down my back. I hated it."

"Chloe have you spoken to Tony recently?"

No. That would involve him sitting near me for more than 30 seconds, and he's incapable of that.

"I haven't seen him lately. Why?"

"So..you didn't hear about what happened to him and Ryan?"

"...No." Not that I care all that much.

He looks at her intently. "A witch turned them into women."

Breaky, party of one!

Chloe blinks. "Why?"

"They insulted her. Well, Tony did anyway."

"So she decided to punish Ryan too? That isn't fair."

Ryan nods.

"I'm not Audrey."

Chloe blinks again. And then again. And a third time!

"...Ryan?"

Ryan just nods.

~~Cue the screaming and the flailing.~~

"Why do you look like Audrey? And, are you completely a woman, or is it just.. you know, a sort of astral plane sort of thing, where you are cloaked in a disguise, but aren't at all changed."

"Because that's what I'd look like if I'd been born female? I don't know!" he says, clearly exapsperated.

"As for your second question, I have no idea what you asked but all I know is it's not permanent."

"You and Audrey look nothing alike though. I mean not even remotely similiar. Ok, brown hair and eyes. But her face is softer than yours. And her chin. It's completely different."

Chloe bites her lip.

"So, the spell will just wear off? Or do you have to get it changed back by this witch?"

"I have green eyes!" Ryan says and feels slightly wounded.

"Yes. It'll wear off. I don't know when. Maybe when we're done humiliating ourselves."

"I never noticed. Sorry." Chloe arches her eye at him.

"Probably a week. That's how long most spells last." She says this almost like she's some sort of expert on the subject. So many a Saturday night spent all alone in her room reading anything handy.

"The sooner the better."

Chloe nods.

"Would you like anything?" She orders a small shake for herself.

He sighs. "No, thanks. I already ate. I think I'll go upstairs and rest."

"Alright. Hopefully when you wake up, you'll be Ryan again." Because you're Audrey right now. Even though you're Ryan too.

"I hope so too. Bye, Chloe."

Chase isn't a harp-bearing harbinger of doom! Is he welcome?

"Chase!" Yes, Chase is very welcome!

"Hey, Chloe!" He plops down next to her. "Haven't seen you in a while."

"Yeah. I've been upstairs mostly. How are you?" She fails to ask about whether or not he's met up with Adam yet. Oh, and then there's that whole Asmodean thing she doesn't want to bring up. Yet.

Just as well, really. Chase doesn't like Adam and he probably won't like Asmodean any more than he used to once they're reintroduced.

"Pretty good." He sighs. "It's such a relief to know that Jack isn't really dead, but I'm still kind of worried about him."

Asmodean doesn't make many friends does he?

"Yes. I can only imagine what it's like for him right now." Not to mention that I knew about it and didn't tell him. God he's going to hate me.

"I could just kick him sometimes, though, you know? I mean--there is absolutely no reason why he can't go see a doctor or a healer about his injuries, and he just won't. Seriously, what the hell? Does he enjoy putting his health in danger and being in constant pain? I just don't get it."

Shaking his head, he orders a milkshake. "Want one?"

"Yes. Someday, he'll just burn out, I'm sure of it. He's got to get over his hero complex. It will kill him some day, I just know it."

Chloe nods. "Make it a strawberry shake please."

Chase just stares at her. Thanks, Chloe. You sure know how to keep up someone's good mood.

"Strawberry shake, please," he says dully, turning to the Bar. The shake materializes it and he pushes it over to Chloe, still staring at the Bar.

Chloe takes the shake and sips it.

"I'm just glad he didn't get you killed. I would never have spoken to him ever again if that virus had killed you."

"The virus wasn't his fault," he mumbles distractedly, not looking at her. "And I can take care of myself, Chloe."

"I realize that." Chloe glares at the side of his head a little before taking another sip.

"But if you had gotten sick or died, Angela would have had to go back to her mother. Who would have given her up for adoption. It's a worst case scenerario, I know. But it could have happened. Adam's sister was killed and she didn't even work at CTU. Life tends to be random like that. But yes, you're fine." Chloe rolls her eyes.

"All I meant by it is that I'm glad you're ok."

"Thanks," he says. And he means it, even if she's given him all kinds of things to think about now that he really, really doesn't want to think about.

"I've just kind of been thinking a lot lately about why I have to quit field work. It's not like I'm not going to miss it, because I am. But I just...I mean, I can't let something like that happen to Angela. Or Kim."

"Exactly." Chloe nods. "Kim doesn't need two men in her life with bulls' eyes on their backs."

Well, you know the saying. The quickest way to Chase's heart is through his Kim. And his Angela. And occasionally his Jack.

"I just don't know what I'm going to do now," he says sadly.

"You're going to live with Kim, raise Angela with her and not work at CTU. You obviously don't want to, so don't." Chloe loves stating the obvious.

It's a little bit more than he had known before, though. Just enough to be reassuring. He smiles a little. "Okay. Thanks, Chloe."

[OOC: Have to go. I guess I didn't have quite as much time as I thought I did, because people are starting to show up at the house. See you tomorrow?]

"No problem. It is what you want to do."
