(no subject)

After her morning with the peroxide and cotton balls, as well as a bowl of insanely sugary cereal, Sarah had gone home.

But now she was back, and apparently in a better mood than she'd been in when she left. There was no way the tiny calico kitten perched on her shoulder and playing with the feathers in her hair had anything to do with it.

Sure, just the same way that there was no chance at all that the kitten's name was 'Squeaky'

Nope, totally not Squeaky.

She seems sociable at least this afternoon, with a plate of zucchini chips and a glass of orange soda, mostly ignored in favor of teasing the kitten with one of the feathers in her hair.

"Hello, Sarah! Where did you get that cute little creature from?"

Asar-Suti turns up beside her.

Asar-Suti stretches out his hand to see whether the small creature will let him touch her.

"I love cats - I sometimes shape-shift into one as well. Yesterday, I enjoyed being a tiger for a while - I hadn't been for quite some while."

Asar-Suti allows Squeak to nip his fingers, totally entranced - but takes care he doesn't break the skin, as the purple goo that would emerge then might scare the little creature.

Also, the effects the Bloof of the Seker has on cats has never been studied. You wouldn't want a magical, slightly purple, cat?

"Cute!" Asar-Suti breathes.

Asar-Suti's skinny pale fingers are there as well, tickling the small creature. His smile is totally beatific.

Whee, kitten!

"Eventually, the enemy will be totally annihilated," Asar-Suti says to the kitten, quite conversationally, while watching its attempts to shred the feathers.

"How many people are there in your team, though?" he then asks Sarah. "So far, you had only mentioned a few names."

Asar-Suti raises his eyebrow. "Sounds impressive. Escape from what, though?"

"That sounds very inhumane," Asar-Suti declares. "Just like that reservation thing - seems your life so far led you from one unpleasantness to the next. Who were 'they', though?"
