Chris is at the bar. Currently she has a glass of diet coke and a book. She's thankful for the book because it keeps her mind off of her worries.

"Actually, I am," she smiles back.

"How are you?"

Good. Lately, I've been a bit of a insommniac though...and a few relationship problems...but otherwise good.

"Everything you just mentioned plus worrying about a friend who's missing and dealing with some 'only-in-Milliways' weirdness."

What stars you looking for?

"It's ok," she says with a smile.

"I was looking for the Andromeda constellation. I thought I saw it last night. Might not be it though, I was told the stars were put there by magic."

Interesting...Earth Science taught me different...but it was only a theory. They could have been put there by magic.

*he shrugs*

I like the stars...now that I can actually see them.

*he smiles*

"I meant the stars out here. I'm pretty sure the stars on Earth didn't get there by magic," she says with a grin.

"Yeah. In LA you don't see many stars. You're lucky if you can see the sun beyond the smog."

I'm easily confused, sorry.

*he smiles*

Yup...exactly.

*he's not sure what to say next*

So, insommnia's kept you awake for how long?

"It hasn't been bothering me that much for the past few days but before that I was getting maybe a couple hours of sleep a night. Four if I was lucky."

I have a pattern of insommnia. Every month for a week. It must be from working night and day before. It sucks.

*he smiles*

Amen to that! "Yeah. It was like that with CTU too. It's one of the reasons I switched to the private sector."

*He laughs*

It's still a lot of work though, right?

"It is but the pay's better. And I'm back in New York."

Yeah.

I got offered a transfer to New York years ago...but somehow I ended up staying in LA.

*he shrugs*

You often have this much stress?...all the problems and such?

"Not really. The past year or so it's been worse," she says with a shrug.

Don't worry about it. Everyone has there bad periods. It'll all settle....eventually.

*He smiles*

You ever need help or something, I'm a trained SWAT officer...or was if it helps.

She nods and smiles a little. "Thanks. But I'm sure you're right and time will straighten everything out."
