Rachel..still looking a bit withdrawn, certainly not happy, but there's a very big distraction available. It weighs several pounds, hard bound, and takes enough concentration to read that she can just pretend it's a normal day...

So she's reading "The Human microcosm" once more, slowly, and though distractuion would make her lose her place, well, blinking does that too...
