Patient Zero (plot) - Summary in content
A rather dejected kitsune enters the bar. Her kitsune-ness is easily identifiable by the silver-furred fox tail, the dejected-ness by the fact that said tail is drooping and that the kitsune is muttering to herself. Other than all of this, she's wearing a pale grey jumpsuit with a utility belt. Some of the items there are recognizable from ThinkGeek, others look like she raided the prop department of various and sundry scifi TV shows.
Laini finds a chair to flop down in, and keeps an eye out for a waiter or wait rat, while fiddling with a pair of magnets she's tossing together to make interesting (or annoying!) spaceship sounds.
((Anyone can bug her, of course! You won't get sick unlessplot dictates you want to.))
((Summary: Laini meets up with Chris, for general geekiness, House, for medical discussions of other plots (slowtimed), Sawyer for teasing and (eep) too much nosiness, Ace for cool toys and plot device, and Edward for green tea icecream shakes and talk of pets.))

Interestingly enough, being a fellow geek, the first thing Chris notices is the magnets.
"Magnetoids, I haven't seen those in years."
no subject
"Every so often I take those out to play with at work. Drives some of my cowokers nuts." She grins. "Then I hide them away til people forget about them for a while."
no subject
She sets about getting one to spin and make a whistling sound. "We would never be allowed to have these where I work."
She extends a hand. "Chris."

"I work with an investment firm and before that I worked in military intelligence. Lots of computers therefore, lots of hard disks."

House makes his way downstairs, it takes a while...and he rests at the bottom for a long moment before moving forward. (http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=milliways_bar&itemid=6158297)
Finally pushing away from the wall, he starts toward the bar. His gait is unsteady, more than he'd care to admit. He stops once to take a deep breath. Walking again, he stumbles into a chair, banging both his shins and the chair's occupant.
He bites his tongue to keep from screaming as the pain rockets up ihs leg, through his thigh and into his back. "I'm...sorry," he mutters, unable for amoment to say more than that.

Her ears flatten (well, they do), first in surprise, then in a wince as she turns around in her chair. "Eeeep. No, its alright. Are you ok? ouch." Laini scrambles up to her feet, hands on his on the back of the chair.
"It was just a bump. Or it should have been. Unless the chair did something to you."
no subject
He blinked, pain still surging through him in waves. "No, I'm...I'm fine. I wasn't..." he wanted to curse. Loudly. "Are you all right? I'm a doctor...I can...if you're hurt..."
He didn't usually talk in fragments like that, but couldn't seem to get the words to come out right.

Walking by on his way to the bar, it's the noise of the magnets that catches his attention first. Sawyer tends to get jumpy around odd noises these days. You never know what sort of odd activity is causing said noises.
What stops him is the fox tail. "Ain't met but one woman with like that. Evening, Ako."
It doesn't even cross his mind that there could be more than one kitsune in the bar.

"People might talk, and then where would we be?" She gasps, and puts the back of her hand to her forhead, dramatically leaning back in her chair.

He flops down in a seat by her. "Besides, if I remember right, 'causing a ruckus is kinda your thing."

And then wanders back, with a curious expression.
Whoever this gal is, she's got cool toys. Cool toys must be examined.
"Hullo."

Laini sets the magnetoids to spinning on the table, and grins over at Ace. "'Lo there!"
no subject
"Brilliant toys you have there." Sigh. You can take the pyro out of child-hood...

"Y'know... if you wanted to store them here..." TOYS! Ace manages to not look overly eager.

"Well, hello to you too!" She spins the magnets around each other up in the air, and tosses them to Ed.
"Noisemakers. Can't live without 'em."

Ooh, Ed likes noisemakers!
