Behrooz is sitting at the bar with a glass of water. He's just checked his tab, and for some reason it only lists things he's bought since he returned. Mysterious. But, that's put him in a fairly good mood, nonetheless.

So now he's gazing a little distantly down the bar, wondering what happened to the rest of the tab. His textbook, now Calculus, is closed in front of him. Not really in the mood for Calculus right now.

Feel free to bother. ~~His mun just got off work and could use entertainment.~~

Guppy comes over. He's looking better; the bandages are off and his hands are healing nicely. He glances at the book.

"Hello Behrooz. Hard at work?"

He also looks cheerful. Hence the nice smiley picture.

Behrooz shrugs. "Don't really feel like math right now." He looks down at Guppy's hands. "Did everything... turn out ok out there?"

Guppy nods. "The shock of thinking I had drowned made my father see sense. It's not like he actually wants me dead. We talked, sorted things out a bit. I mean we're never going to have the best father and son relationship in the world, but just being able to talk to one another is at least a start."

Look! Behrooz is capable of smiling, too! The icon proves it!

"Well, that's good," he says. And definitely Behrooz isn't one to judge other father-son relationships. At all. "I'm glad it turned out well."

"Hopefully things will improve now." Guppy says, smiling and remembering fondly the moment when his father finally held him close and told him that he would never hurt him again.
"How have you been?"

"Um... fine," he says pretty honestly. "I kind of wish I could go back, but beyond that, not much." He thinks of the short tab, but he has a suspicion about who was responsible for that.

"Can't you go back? I thought things were sorted in your world now. Nothing's ever simple is it?"

He looks carefully at Behrooz, not detecting anything hidden behind the 'I'm fine' today.

"The door won't open, and I was... kind of in the middle of something when I left, so I want to see... what happens with that." He shrugs. "I always seem to end up here at inconvenient times."

"I think that happens to most people. Bar seems to do it on purpose. I mean, you open up a cupboard looking for bandages, and what do you find? A bar. And it's so tempting just to nip in and have a coffee."

He pauses.

"And most of the time I do nip in and have a coffee. But it hardly takes any time in my world. It's brilliant really. Plenty of procrastination in a short space of time. Should be a name for it. Microprocrastination or something."

Mitzi gives him a raised eyebrow, which tells him that just because he's had beer doesn't mean he can be silly.

He shrugs. "It's not that I don't like being here. It's that I'd like to come here sometime and not be constantly wondering or worrying about how things will turn out on the outside."

He nods. "Know the feeling."

[ooc; sorry, mun must go to bed. Slowtime?]

Behrooz pauses, and turns to Mitzi. "Chase said he felt bad about laughing at you, by the way."

'And so he should. You can tell him to tell him from me that not only is the egg going to hatch, but it's going to hatch tomorrow. So there.'

Guppy translates this quick bit of telepathy then looks back at the bird.

"Wait a minute. It's hatching tomorrow? That wasn't twenty one days."

'It had help. I was hatched in six days. It's a simple enough procedure.'

Behrooz shrugs. "I'm just saying you don't need to stay angry with him," he says.

Mitzi looks at Guppy.

"She says she doesn't stay angry often. She gets angry and makes things happen at the time, rather than holding grudges."

He glares at the bird.

"Although if you ever hurt any of my friends I'll set Sooty on you."

"Well... I guess he'd be happy to know that," he says, glancing at Mitzi a little uncertainly. "Provided you aren't going to make anything happen."

Mitzi winks.

"She won't. She knows Asar-Suti will punish her with greater magic if she does."

Behrooz doesn't know who Asar-Suti is, but he still nods as if he understands.

"Well, I'll tell him that," he says, not really sure at all if he will as his relationship with Chase is... erm... well... iffy to ok.

Mun squints at the picture above trying to see what it is.

"Trust me, she won't do anything. Not to anyone other than me anyway."

Well, that would be Behrooz... erm... beating someone with a shovel. eheh. But that guy was sent by his father to kill him! And... mun thinks it's a cool icon...

"I trust you," he says. He looks down at Mitzi again. "Though I heard about the 500 eggs thing, too," he says, suppressing any sort of smile.

"That wasn't funny. Four hundred and eighty eggs taken from inside their boxes in a sealed warehouse was the stupidest thing you've ever done." Guppy says, glaring at the bird.

"I'm on a crusade."

"No you are not on a crusade. You can't stop everyone from eating eggs, so don't even try."

Guppy, Mitzi and the mun look for quite a long time at what they think is a typo. After much head scratching Guppy ventures.

"Pardon?"

[ooc: *grins* Yes please if you don't mind. I can't make head or tail of that last sentence.]

Behrooz thinks about saying 'It is kind of funny,' but decides not to.

"It seems like you'd be more concerned about people eating chickens..." he says instead.

See, it completely makes sense when the mun doesn't somehow mix up very similar words 'it' and 'eating'! -_-

Saying things like 'It's kind of funny' puts people at risk of sudden cold swims.

"She says she doesn't want people eating chicken either. Or any other bird."

Fortunately, Behrooz knows when to restrain himself from speaking his mind. It's just a good thing his father wasn't a mind reader.

"Well, good luck with that," he says, without the slightest hint of sarcasm.

"No, it's an impossible task and I'm not having any more magic in Holby. Remember the other day? No more screw ups." Guppy says, tapping the bird on her beak.

"He's right about that," Behrooz says quietly to Mitzi, more seriously.

"Yes, or I'll get the Ministry of Magic from Gil's world to come and sort you out. Or I'll tell Asar-Suti."

This appears to be a sufficient threat.

Behrooz doesn't get much of this, but decides not to ask. Instead he gathers up his things.

"Anyway, I think I need to head upstairs. I'll talk to you later."

Guppy smiles. "See you Behrooz. Take care."
