In a booth, Charlie is trying to feed Seth from a jar of crushed plums. Seth has several purple-ish blobs on his face, and has gotten very little of the fruit into his mouth. Woe.

Cahrlie plays with Seth's hand. "I could use my mum around. Of course, my brother's got Meggie and he's been invaluable."

"Well, that's good. And you seem to be doing a great job. Seth looks well fed and well loved." Sam points out. "That's better than a lot can say."

"I'm not alone, though. Claire and I have lots of help." He pats Seth's round tummy and sings softly, "'She's like a baby, I'm like a cat, when we are happy we both get fat,'" and grins as Seth giggles.

Sam smiles again. "You're still doing a great job."

"Thanks." He looks at Seth thoughtfully, and Seth grabs for his nose.

"Your boyfriend's name is Andrew, you said? How'd you meet?"

"At a neurologist." Sam says, perfectly straight faced.

He blinks a few times. "Are both your brains okay now?"

"They were fine to begin with thankyouverymuch." Sam says, trying to look affronted but fails. "He had headaches, and I have...epilepsy...so we just...met in the waiting room. It was interesting. Then he drove me home."

"Hm. I get headaches but it's mostly from ringing in my ears. From the amplifiers.

"And then it was magic, eh?"

"His was...medicine related."

She giggles. "Yes, pure magic...we buried my hamster together, and at that moment, I knew I loved him," she finished dramatically.

Charlie nods in a slightly bewildered way. "Well. Grief can bring people together . . . er."

"I was kidding. Though it was his mom's death that brought him to New Jersey in the first place, so I guess you're right."

"So when did you know? I cold tell you when I knew I loved Bartleby, if you want. Tale for tale."

"Alright, tale for tale." Sam thought for a moment. "We sat in the bathtub his mom died in, and he cried, just one tear, for the first time in...forever." She bit her lip, getting a faraway look on her face. "It was then, I knew completely that I loved him...and I only wanted him, and the rest of the guys in the world didn't matter."

He nods, smiling a little. Seth looks solemn in the way babies do.

"I was sick, like I said, when I got here. Um. Heroin withdrawls." He focuses on Seth. "And Bartleby, when we first talked, said he would help me if it got bad--too bad for me to bear. So a night or two later it was--it hurt. It hurt bad.

"So I went to Bartleby's room and he helped me--he took some of the pain away. Um. He's an angel. Well, ex-angel now. Another story. And he held me and kept me warm and told me a story about a frog.

"And that's when I fell in love with him."

Sam looks at him looking slightly like she might cry. But she won't. Purposefully.

"That's so sweet...and...just...wow." Sam's speechless, which is a hard thing to accomplish.

Charlie smiles and kisses Seth's hand. "Actually telling him came a while later, but that's another story."

"I didn't get to tell Andrew till I arrived here." Sam said softly..."I thought I'd never get the chance."

"Milliways brings people together in a weird and unpredictable way," Charlie says philosophically.

[ooc: mind if we wrap? brain is tired.]

"That's true." Sam smiles, before standing up. "I better go get something to eat...and find Andrew." She walks over and brushes a hand over Seth's soft baby-hair. "Bye Charlie, and buh-bye Seth!"

"Bye," Charlie says and waves Seth's hand bye-bye.
