Malcolm is in the bar. Sitting in one of the booths, reading a book. From time-to-time he tries to pick up a glass of Laphroaig. Then realizes he's trying to use the hand that isn't there.

Some might find this comical.

What's he reading? "Casting the Runes and Other Ghost Stories," by M. R. James.

That Bar. She's quite the kidder.

Hurley sits down next to the man, "Ghost stories, cool." He then extends his hand, "I'm Hurley, California 2004, but lately an island in the middle of the Pacific."

"Dr. Malcolm Crowe. Malcolm. Nice to meet you Hurley."

Malcolm looks down at the book. "I do too. Well, I did. Right now they're hitting a little close to home. Bar is probably trying to tell me something."

"So how do you get from an island in the Pacific to Milliways?"

"Don't know, was talking to my friend Charlie one day, turned away and the next minute I was here. I've actually seen a few other people from the Island here, but some of them come from slightly different times."

"So where are you from, what do you do?"

"I was a child psychatrist in Philadelphia. 1999 in my world. There was a misunderstanding with one of my former patients, and before I knew it, I was dead. Gunshot."

"But I was lucky. I got one more chance to help someone else. Then I was able to say goodbye to my wife. So I sort of made my peace with what came before. Next thing I knew, I was here. That was about a month ago."

"Been here long?"

"You are a psychiatrist," he said a tinge of relief in his voice, dismissing the rest of what the man had to say.

"A chemically imbalanced (http://www.livejournal.com/community/milliways_bar/6371166.html) resident of the island where I come from has just entered the bar. She has been on the island for a lot longer than some of the other people, Charlie, Claire, you may have met, and seems to be very well, confused both here and on the island. What happened to her is a long story, one I understand bits and pices of, but I have been looking for someone to help her."

Oh, Malcolm is very used to people taking what information they need!

"I'm glad you found me, Hurley. If she would be willing to talk to me, I would be more than happy to see what I can do about making her feel more comfortable here."

"I don't think I've met Charlie or Claire. But if you've all been isolated for some time, that might be having some effect."

(ooc: must go soon, bed is calling. but maybe do a thread next time with Hurley, Malcolm, and Danielle? :D )

"I and the others from the island haven't been isolated for nearly as long as she has. I think she has been there at least 16 years. There are, other, uh potentially supernatural, factors involved which I have been telling to Ray, the Ghostbuster guy. But I haven't seen any of them around tonight."
