Nita's at the Bar, looking slightly annoyed. She's Bound again.

So she's back to her tea-Bar-people-watching routine, still keeping an eye out for her friends.

"Good wizards have tend to be hard to kill. A perk of the job, I suspect."

Coyote takes a drag. "One I rather envy. Dying is very uncomfortable."

[nita_callahan]

"More like a necessity," she replies with a rueful smile.

She tilts her head. "You've -- got experience?"

[howling_laugh]

Coyote tsks at her. "Your lesson for the evening, sweet. All flesh dies, no matter who is wearing it. If I want a proper body, I have to deal with the annoyances as well."

[nita_callahan]

She nods. "Oh, yeah, that rule. But obviously, it's not premanent in your case."

[howling_laugh]

"That depends on your point of view. I have never used the same body twice, after all. And I do die, when the body does. And then I make a new one. Or I can be born, if I want to. But it is a messy business, being born. I do not live that way very often."

[nita_callahan]

She tilts her head. "Do you--"

She pauses, and shakes her head. "Never mind."

[howling_laugh]

Coyote raises her eyebrows and blows out another cloud of smoke. "Tell you what, sweet. Consider me your teacher this evening. You may ask whatever you please. I think I will take little offense."

[nita_callahan]

She smiles. "Okay. Do you enjoy being immortal?" A shrug. "I guess it's kind of a stupid question."

[howling_laugh]

"There are not many stupid questions. Odd ones, to be sure. Do you enjoy being mortal?" Coyote shrugs.

"It is a hard question to answer. I will think on it."

[nita_callahan]

After a moment's thought, she says, "I think I like being a wizard. I talked to Puck about it once, actually. I'm mortal, but I'm -- aware. I've got some of both perspectives, the long view and the short." There's a flash of pain in her eyes before she says, "And sometimes it sucks. But most of the time, yeah, I think I enjoy it."

[howling_laugh]

"Would you prefer to be immortal, Nita Callahan?"

Her eyes are searching, and give away little.

[nita_callahan]

Nita's eyes are looking into the distance. Eventually she shakes her head. "I don't think so. I think I'd get tired."

[howling_laugh]

"Clever girl. It's never wise to wish for immortality, if you don't already have it. Or if you value your sanity."

[nita_callahan]

"Yeah, I figured. . ." She leans her chin on her hand. "It's probably something you have to be born to. Or -- created to, or something."

[howling_laugh]

Coyote's smile is bright and amused. "Or something. I suppose it could get tiring. But there is enough I think, to keep me busy for some time yet."

[nita_callahan]

Nita grins. "Yeah, I'll bet you could keep busy if anyone could."

[howling_laugh]

"I could tell you stories that would make your hair curl, dear."

She pauses to stub out her cigarette. "They would not of course, involve anything that a fourteen year old shouldn't hear about."

[nita_callahan]

She raises her eyebrows and giggles. "Of course not. They'd be totally appropriate hair-curling stories."

[howling_laugh]

Coyote gives Nita a wicked smirk. "The ones about hairdressers could be."

She eyes her own hair. "This is too thick to hold a good curl, though. How sad." She sighs. Sadly.

[nita_callahan]

She cracks up. "I suppose they could be, yeah."

"Anyway--" She drains her tea and sets her cup down on the Bar, where it disappears. "I should probably be going to bed."

[howling_laugh]

Coyote lights another cigarette and gives a little wave.

"Goodnight. We will speak again soon."

[nita_callahan]

"Yeah. Dai, Coyote."

She heads upstairs.
