*Brian has been painting things. A side effect of this is that he is now blue. Not entirely, sure, but he's pretty damned blue - looks like people've been attacking him with paintbrushes.

Depends on the tree and the amount of preparation, man. If it's a long protest you can get, like, planks and cushions and stuff. But I'm totally behind you on the sleeping thing.

"True enough."

Raven grins.

"The only disadvantage to sleeping is that one cannot eat at the same time."

That is so true. I need some kind of, like, IV hookup or something. That said, you kinda miss out on some cool stuff if you're sleeping. I mean, dreams're genius things and allow for flying and meeting cool people and fronting bands and whatever, but, on downside, no talking to people. Which'd suck.

Raven laughs.

"I agree with you on that, too. Talking to people is one of life's greater pleasures. Also, the waking world has bunny slippers that remain bunny slippers."

A pause.

"I do not think bunny slippers should be metaphorical."

You have metaphorical bunny slippers in dreams? What're they a metaphor for, out of interest? Which kinda sounds like a dance. Y'know, the rhumba, the cha cha, the metaphor for.

Raven tilts his head, and blinks.

"Perhaps they are a metaphor for bread. Or, to be more elaborate, perhaps they are a metaphor for the intrinsic childish nature buried in the human heart. Mine usually turn into snakes."

He shrugs.

Hunh. So your intrinsic childhood nature wants to eat itself?

Mine's not buried so deep, man.

Another laugh.

"To hear Coyote tell of it, neither is mine."

He smiles.

"They call me Raven."

Brian.

Raven's a pretty cool name, there, man. Is it a real name or a nickname or are you something funky like a real raven in disguise?

Raven tilts his head, considering.

"Something of all three, perhaps. It is difficult to explain."

Well, y'know, you don't have to. Sounds cool, though... can you fly?

Raven beams.

"Yes. It is the most wonderful thing in all the worlds, I think. Have you ever been?"

Nope. Not even in a plane, man. Some day I'm gonna jump out of a plane, I swear, but I've never... not really had the chance. Don't think it was high on Ads' priorities list.

Raven tilts his head.

"Ads?"

A blink.

"If you ever do want to fly, with wings, feel free to ask. We should have one more similarity, perhaps."

He grins.

Ads. Adam. Best buddy. Antichrist.

*he grins*

And... a who in a what, now? Wings?

"You are friends with Adam, then? It is good to hear, I think. He is often . . . morose."

A blink, and then Raven grins.

"You can borrow my raven-shape, if you would like to go flying with me. I very much enjoy company."

His eyes are very bright and excited.

Yeah. Morose. Sucks to be him, and I wish I could help more.

*the second part of the statement makes Brian blink, more than a little*

Woah. Is that, like, true and not a delusion? I mean, no offense, man, but... Wow. Sounds kinda too good to be true.

Raven blinks.

"It is the truth. I have already taken some people here. It is a simple thing, if temporary."

...Woah.

"I have promised to take Adam, as well. Perhaps all of us could go together, sometime? There are more games to play with three, than two."

*he snickers quietly*

That sounds so wrong, dude. But yeah, that'd be cool!

Raven blinks.

"True enough, though I had not intended it as such."

He blinks again, then laughs.

Dirty mind.

*he grins*

Not blue, though.

Raven smirks. There is no other word for it.

"Correct on both counts, though the first is something of a well-kept secret. I am cagey, like that."

Oh, cool, I know a secret. Do I get to blackmail you? Or, like, do you want an exchange secret to make sure I don't?
