[OOM: Faith and Joyce have a Forgiveness Moment in Faith's room.]

Faith comes downstairs, dressed in an athletic bra and biker shorts, her hair piled on her head. She's been training, and she's a little sweaty...she could do with a shower, and she'll probably take one soon. But for now, she's here, sitting at a table with a bottle of water, a burger, and fries.

Her security badge and the scar from when Buffy stabbed her in the gut with her own dagger are both plainly visible.

Also? She's smiling.

"You remember when I had those Slayer dreams and I wasn't sleeping right? For a long time?"

Yeah, course.

"Had one about Mel and Harth. I was inside him, and he was hurting her."

*Raph gets very quiet, and pays a whole lot more attention to his beer.*

"I felt what he felt...and he was enjoying it. Her pain...seeing her cry...he liked it. He loves her...in a sick, twisted vampire-like way...he thinks hurting her is proving how much. He gets off on it...gets off on her."

"Oh, believe me when I say uh-huh." Faith sighs. "See...vamps in my world...d'you know anything 'bout them yet?"

Dealt with leaches before. Had a show of 'em in Mass this one time. Near Arkham. Then there's what Andrew tol' me 'bout them. An' what I know of Angel.

"Angel. He's from my world. See...vamps in my world, they're demons, soulless monsters that take over the corpses of the people they kill. Angel doesn't kill humans anymore because he got his soul back, but when he loses his soul...and he can...he goes bad. Last time, it was here...he nearly killed me."

Sounds like a swell guy...

Faith shrugs slightly.

"When he's not evil, he is."

That's one of them discriptions that everyone fits.

"I've known plenty of people who weren't evil but also weren't particularly nice. Several of them tried to kill me when I wasn't being a good little Slayer."

Yeah but, everyone got over that...right?

"Hope so."

Think you deserve it?

Faith shrugs, slightly.

"Don't know."

Ain't that the biggest bitch of them all.

*Spoken in true commiseration as Raph downs the rest of his beer and orders another.*

"Yup."

Faith procures a bottle of Jack and raises it in salute.

*After the clinking of glass bottles, and the drinking of toasts, Raph asks the obvious question.*

So what're we doin'bout Harth.

Faith makes a face.

"Can't stake him. Hasn't done anything yet."

He touches my brother, I ain't waitin' for the go'head. Promise or no promise.

"Stake to the heart, fire, sunlight, decapitation. Any of those'll do it."

Think I can manage that. Got the same permission from Mel, even though it's really her mark.

"Yeah. I asked her too."
