Hey, look! A Nita!

She looks pretty tired, but rather satisfied, as she sits in a booth not really reading her Poetry book.

"His master -- well, the being who used to be his master -- was allied with the Lone Power, and sacrificing mortals to gain power." There's a hint of distaste in her voice as she continues, "Plus, he was trying to get Puck back in his service, so he kidnapped some of Puck's friends. So a group of us went to get them back, and I laid a geas on him so that he can't work with the Lone Power again."

"That is...that sounds terribly dangerous. Did everyone you went with return safely?"

"There were some minor injuries, but yeah, everyone got out safely." She smiles, and it's a little sad and a little old -- and a moment later, she looks back up at Elaine and is a teenager again.

"So what have you been up?"

"Oh, readjusting after being in Los Angeles for two months out of the bar...and being relieved that Chris is no longer sick with that shapeshifter's disease. Being with Ryan and being happy..." She smiles softly.

"That sort of thing."

Her eyebrows go up. "You were in LA?'

"Oh, you did not hear? I opened the door by mistake and the door slammed behind me. I think I was gone for nearly three weeks bar time." She chews on her lip. "But for me, in Los Angeles, it was two months."

"Wow." She shakes her head. "I didn't hear. What did you do in LA? I mean, did you get a job or anything?"

"I was able to get a job at a diner, because the owner was good enough to take me on without any papers or anything. I worked but not much else. I went to the beach, and to the library."

"The beach -- that must've been fun." She smiles. "One of the big libraries, or what?"

"It was huge, but remember, in my day, books were rare commodities. I think I must have stood there with my mouth open for a few minutes when I first walked in."

She grins. "I think I did something similar my first time in a library."

"Most of what I did in the library was try to figure out if I was insane or not. It didn't help me very much, though."

A frown. "Why'd you think you were insane?"

"Well, I'd always had problems with severe depression...and then there's the life I lived before...then Milliways, and the Los Angeles. And when my stay in Los Angeles went past two weeks, I began wondering if everything that had gone before was just...fake or a hallucnation, and if I'd gotten some sort of amnesia or psychotic break...it was rather a hard time."

The Queen of Understatement is back.

Her eyes widen a little. "Wow." A pause. "Glad you're back."

"Beleive me, so am I. And so is Ryan, of course." She smiles.

"How's he doing?"

"He is well. Glad I am back, glad Christine is well again, and so am I. That was quite a singular illness she had."

She nods. "I tried healing her, one time." A grimace. "I understand it didn't work very well."

"Unfortunately, no...a most contentious thing, that illness. She...began to turn into a dolphin."

Her eyebrows go up. "Against her will?"

"Twas the illness. It was slow and terrifying to watch." Elaine's voice wavers a little. "I cannot begin to imagine what Chris was going through."

"Geez." She shakes her head. "I'm glad everyone made it out okay."

"So am I. I wept with relief when it was over."

She nods, and notes the time. "Geez, it's getting late." She smiles up at Elaine. "Great talking with you."
