Hey, look! A Nita!

She looks pretty tired, but rather satisfied, as she sits in a booth not really reading her Poetry book.

"Um." She glances away, then meets his eyes. "Well, I have."

“How old are you again?”

A small smile, a little older than it ought to be, maybe. "About fifteen."

“How many suicide missions have you been on?”

"Um, only one. Officially." She leans her chin on her hand.

“Officially?”

Tony’s starting to sound more like her father than her uncle. But sometimes the roles can overlap. The mun is not speaking in cases of incest.

"There've been a couple of situations I've gone into not really expecting to come out," she admits.

To quote another mun, it is at this time that Tony realizes that Nita truly is a Bauer!

It’s just a little creepy. Just a little.

". . .What?"

“You know, if I squint and cover my ears I might be able to mistake you for Jack.”

Nita blinks. "How am I supposed to take that?"

I don’t know? You’re supposed to take it like I meant to compare you to a fortysomething ex-federal agent who can’t walk out the door without having a body count?

“Nevermind.”

She smiles, a little awkwardly. "Saying it's my job isn't gonna help, huh?"

Oh, God, that only makes it worse!

“No.”

"Didn't think so." She shrugs. "Unfortunately, it's still true."

That’s just great. So I get sucked into a bar at the end of the universe that exists out of time and space and it’s just my luck that I run into somebody who could damn well have been Jack’s daughter. I am never gonna escape the insanity!

Tony doesn’t say anything to that.

It's really too bad Nita can't hear Tony's interior monologue, because she'd probably be amused. Since she can't, she shakes her head and changes the subject. "So do you think you'll have the wedding here or out there?" She gestures towards the front door.

Ah, blessed change of subject!

“We’re going to have two ceremonies, actually: one in here and one out there.”

Her eyebrows go up. "Michelle is organizing?"

“Yeah?”

He asks as if she’s implying this is a Bad Thing. Or a Thing That Tony Should Be Involve With, Because Otherwise Ha Ha He’s Whupped.

…which is actually not far from the truth.

She smirks, unsurprised. "Cool." Then she shakes her head and grins. "You're getting married. That's awesome."

He shrugs, smirking. “It’s nothing we haven’t done before.”

"It's still cool." She tilts her head. "I'm gonna have to find you guys a present."

With whose money?

“Maybe we’ll talk you into being the flower girl.”

". . . .How about no. Flower girls are, like, eight."

She's a teenager, and don't you forget it.
