Connor's in the bar, reading a biology textbook. He doesn't look interested in it, and he's mostly reading it to avoid thinking about life the universe and everything.

Come distract him.

Thea is glancing about, almost as if in a dream. She keeps expecting to wake up, so it's not really surprising.

Help a lost girl out?

Connor notices Thea, and waves to her. "Hi. You look kinda lost."

She approached curiously, her brown eyes examining him. Well, he looked human, but he moved a certain way.

"I guess I am."

She pulled her shawl around her drawing attention to the Black Dahlia pin, if he was a night person he wouldn't fail to miss that symbol.

He doesn't react to the pin.

"Are you new here?"

She is surprised by this, although since she doesn't have a clue where she is it doesn't show. This mun thought she was the only reader.

"Yeah, my closet kind of..."

Her eyes widened and she gave a nervous laugh.

"I'm probably just dreaming."

He smiles. "It was my chemistry class, the first time I came here. I was expecting a pop quiz, got a bar with a view of the apocalypse instead."

"Has anyone explained this place to you yet? Told you the rules?"

"I sort of got a rough explanation."

It was an experience she would have rather been without.

"But I still think I'm dreaming."

"Okay. At least in a dream, you can do anything. Except break the rules, 'cause getting in trouble with Security would make it a nightmare."

"I'm not sure if this is a nightmare or not yet."

She mused.

"I like it. The food's good, and most people are weirder than me. Of course, when I came here I was already used to weird things happening to me..."

He looks at Thea curiously. "Are there supernatural things on your world? Vampires, magic, superheroes?"

She nodded nervously.

"I'm not supposed to say anything to a human, but you seem to already know."

"If it helps, I'm not completely human."

"I sort of guessed, but I can't figure it out."

She grinned wryly. What's a gal to do?

"I live a mostly normal human life though. When I'm not here, at least. I'm in college back home, I spend most of my time studying."

"But what are you?" She says it quietly, her eyes flashing with interest.

"...I don't know."

He shrugs. "I've got powers like a vampire's, but I'm not one. My powers are also like a Slayer's, but they're always girls so I'm obviously not one of them, either. As far as I know, I'm not really anything."

Slayer's must have been something different where he came from, if they were all girls.

The way he said it made her sad for some reason.

"Everyone is something."

Her eye's burned into his and deep behind them there was a hint of fire.

"You're just unique."

He smiles softly. "Yeah." Then he says lightheartedly, "What about you? Any powers, or deep and dark secrets?"

"I'm a witch, but a long way back there's some Lamia blood in my family."

If he had been of her world, he'd have known it just from her name. She shook her head, blonde hair settling on her shoulders.

"But I don't really have the vampire instincts."

[OOC: Gonna have to slowtime now ^_^]

"Lamia..." He frowns, remembering the mythology of his world. "What're they like in your world? In mine, it's a myth that was probably based on ancient vampires."

"Vampires that can choose to age and have children."

She explained simply, with a wave of her hand.
