Entrance Post

[OOM: In which Dr Robert Chase attempts to burn the midnight oil]

He tugged the door open, head down, eyes to the floor.

Something wasn't right. He pulled his head up, looking around.

He knew his boss liked to drink, but since when did he turn his office into a full service bar? When did he have time?

Chase blinked, trying to clear his mind.

He was hallucinating, that's all.

Riiiiight.

Come, you know you want to break in the newbie. At the very least, laugh at his perplexed expression. Mock his confusion, or ihs accent.

Wilson hadn't returned to their world ever since he had come to check up on House. After all, he really didn't want to face Julie right now. He's rather stay here and let House guilt trip him, as long as the man provided good company.

So it was a bit of a surprise to see Chase. He had to remind himself that this wasn't the hospital, so this wasn't a normal occurence. And since House hadn't mentioned anything, he was fairly sure that Chase was new here.

"Chase?" He asked in a surprised voice, blinking.

Wilson was no expert, but judging from the expression on Chase's face, it was probably safe to say that he had no idea on earth where he was. Poor boy. He still remembered his first time here, and he'd had House to ease the way.

So he guessed he could try to do the same for Chase. After all, they were co-workers, despite their different fields of work at the hospital.

"So I'm not imagining things," he said with a faint smile. "So, I'm guessing it's your first time here?"

"Well, one question at a time, Dr. Chase," Wilson with a wry laugh. After all, it would probably take a while just to explain exactly where "here" was. It was still hard for Wilson himself to believe, after all.

"This is Milliways, also known as the bar at the end of the universe." Cue gesturing to the observation window.

"The bar brings people from all over the place. If you use a door, it could lead here. It just works that way," Wilson said with a shrug. "But if you want to find House, you can find him here."

"I don't think so," Wilson said with a shake of his head. At least, he hadn't seen him around and House hadn't mentioned anything, so that's what he assumed. "But Dr. Cameron is here as well."

Wilson's expression softened a bit at that. He knew how complicated Chase's relationship with his father was, after all, even if it was simply from being House's friend.

"Well, there's no paperwork to be done here. But I can give you the rundown on how things work here, if you want to keep your mind off of things."

Wilson sat in the seat across from him, making himself comfortable.

"Well, as you know, this is the bar at the end of the universe. People come from all different sorts of places, times, and worlds. Things aren't like what they're back home." Which was true. There were healers, boys who got tortured...different sorts of people.

[identity profile] wilsons-musings.livejournal.com 2005-08-14 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Not quite," Wilson paused, trying to figure out how to say this. "They're completely different. Different people, different ways of life. There's healers here who treat people with magic instead of medicine." Which was mind-boggling, yes, but true.

[identity profile] wilsons-musings.livejournal.com 2005-08-14 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
"It's still hard for me to believe as well, but then again...this place itself is a mystery," he admitted with a wry smile and a shrug of his shoulders. "But you get used to it after a while. You don't think about the details as much."

[identity profile] wilsons-musings.livejournal.com 2005-08-14 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Time runs different here." Which was true. "Sometimes, time back home doesn't change at all while we're here." Which was majority of the time, true. "But while we're away at home, time here goes on."

[identity profile] wilsons-musings.livejournal.com 2005-08-14 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Wilson nodded.

"There's a few rules. If you don't follow them, security tends to throw you into the holding cells." Not that he'd seen it himself. "No violence and no sex in the bar. No business. And don't ask Snow White about the dwarves." Yeah, the last one was odd, but everyone seemed to say it, so. Might as well give Chase the heads up.

Okay, that one caught Wilson off guard. Chase was joking, right? Because that seemed to come out of nowhere, and... well, it just surprised Wilson.

So he blinked a few times before he chuckled a bit.

"Good one, Chase."

Wilson just smiled. He didn't mind, really. It's not as if any of his relationships worked out, anyway.

"Well, you basically just exit through the door that you came in. Unless you can't see the door." Which would bring up another issue entirely.
