"The very same. I'm proud of him."

Trillian grins.

"I guess in some way you're related now."

Asmodean chuckled slightly.

"...Our family is complicated, but an improvement over my last one."

She smiles and rests her hand gently on Angela's shoulder, "He helped my boyfriend a while ago."

And she looks a little confused, "Related?" She glances at Jasin for an explanation.

A pause.

"Does Nita not consider you family?"

It is very easy to forget that the bard is carrying all of her memories.

She blushes a little and looks down, "No, that makes sense..."

"-- did he."

It takes Trillian a minute to grasp the meaning of this.

"Was he seriously wounded?"

Max, I'm gonna kill you.

"He'd had his hand cut off," she says after a moment. "And bruises all over his body...I hope it didn't hurt Max."

"N-no. It shouldn't have -- it doesn't usually ever hurt him to heal."

Just give the person he healed some strange powers.

But Trillian isn't going to make it her job to tell that.

Asmodean considered for a moment.

"Healing is a power that takes of you."

"I know it hurts Nita," she glances at Trillian. "But you seem a little concerned."

"Sometimes, when someone's close to death - eventually the evolved power of Max's family manifests in that person. It takes a few years to happen, but ... it can."

She stares at Trillian for a few moments.

"Are you saying that my boyfriend could have powers?"

Was he close to death? He didn't die in her time, the doctors had stopped the bleeding, he wasn't going to die...

Asmodean seemed slightly amused by this turn of events.

"I find this... odd."

"Frankly? Yes. Not yet, but -- Max should've warned you, or been more careful, or -- or something, at any rate."

Trillian shrugs.

"They're not dangerous, though. Not to the wielder or his loved ones, at any rate."

She blinks and nods, this is Milliways, of course things had odd...results.

"As long as it's not dangerous to him. But are you positive or is it just something that could happen?"

"I'm not Max. I'm pretty close to being Max, but I'm still human."

A pause.

"But he did save me from near-death."

The silence is longer as Trillian raises her hand and sparks come out of her fingertips.

"For me it happened faster, because of a different kind of connection. I can't guarantee it, but it is likely."

Asmodean glanced off slightly.

"Links are dangerous, but powerful tools."

"How...what happened?" she asks softly.

Game of Evade the Question Time, anyone?

"It's not a pretty place, Roswell."

Trillian gives Asmodean a fleeting look of 'help, plzkthx?'

Asmodean noticed the look. His tone of voice reflected a 'Don't ask' very well.

"It was an uncomfortable experience for all involved."

A pause.

"Now, if you will excuse us, my wife and I have some business to attend to."

He turned to Angela who had long since fallen asleep, and smiled softly.

"Go in peace, Lady Kim and Lady Angela."

Kim picks up Angela and holds her against her chest. "It was nice meeting you Trillian and I'm sure that I'll see you later, Jasin."

She smiles a little and then walks back towards the booth and her book.

"Light illumine," Trillian nods at Kim, adapting mayhap too well to her adopted cultures.

As for Jasin? He just gets a smile.
