Look out, witch in the bar.
Witch who’s still getting used to the fact that she can’t kill the bad guy, even.
But, all that considered, she seems pretty calm.
She probably wouldn’t bite if someone talked to her.

…probably.

- aren't you the one who thought we were all demons? *Meg asks curiously, from her seat at the bar.*

Piper smiles at her.

"That's me."

*Meg grins back.*

I take it you've figured out by now we're not, then?

Piper shrugs slightly.

"Let's see, after I met a vampire, a demon..."

- well, yes, some people are demons, *Meg admits,* but, you know, on the whole they're quite nice and friendly too -

"Well, except for you, I haven't met a whole lot of them."

Hang around long enough, and you'll meet plenty, *Meg says cheerfully.* This place is like a small city by now, really.

Piper nods.

"I've noticed that. I've begun to wonder if I'll ever get to know people."

It's not hard, honestly, *Meg assures her.* Sometimes I think people here are like three times as friendly as people in the normal world, in general. Everyone's got a story and usually they're more than happy to share it -

"That's good.

Different from San Francisco, that's for sure."

San Francisco is somewhere in Spain, yes? *Meg says, helpfully.

- look, it sounds Spanish.*

- but yeah, it's different from most places out there. *She waves, vaguely, to indicate 'out there'.*

"No, San Francisco is in America.

And yes, I've noticed..very different."
For one, most demons have to HIDE and not run around in public.
[Eh, she's still getting used to it, give her a break.]

- oh. I knew that, *Meg says, a trifle sheepishly.* Sorry, I'm not so good in geography -

And you do get used to it, after a while. It's just one of those things.

"Yes, I suppose so."
Piper sighs slightly.

"I'm trying to get used to it - I really am.
I'm just not used to all this.

Where I come from I have to live a double life and everybody hides everything."

That's actually the story of a lot of people here, *Meg says, sympathetically.*

- not me, I'm fairly boring, as dramatic powers and things go. But the superheroes and vampire slayers and all, all about the big secrecy.

*She looks rather curious.*

So what is your secret double life? If I can ask.

"Oh! I, um..
..own a club."

[OOC: Sorry for slow, got disconnected.]

- that doesn't seem like it would require secret doubleness to me, much, *Meg says, amused.* Unless your club owes a lot of money.

Piper coughs.

"Well, owning a club can be very taxing!"

I'm sure it is, *Meg says solemnly.* Ordinary housewife by day, Owner of Taxing Clubs by night!

Piper smiles secretly to herself.

"Something like that.

Speaking of that, did I ever tell you about my family?"

- don't think so, you were too busy accusing me of being evil, *Meg says amiably.* What about 'em?

"Well, I live with my two sisters, Paige and Pheboe - we're very close - and I have a husband, Leo, and two wonderful boys, Wyatt and Chris."

*Meg grins, and says, politely,* Sounds like a nice big family. How old are your boys?

"Chris is about eight months old, and Wyatt is four."

*Meg grins.* I've got a cousin who's that age - about a year, I think. She's adorable, but a pain in the derriere -

"Well, yes, they both can be rather difficult to handle at times, but I've learned how to cope pretty well.
In fact, I probably should get back to them now.

It was very nice to talk with you.
Hope to meet again soon."

With that, Piper turns around and walks out the door.
