(no subject)

Harold is in the corner of the bar, purple crayon in hand, quietly amusing himself. He might have been there for hours without anyone noticing him.

He looks a little lonely, to tell you the truth.

Remiel is nearby, toying with his yo-yo, and notices. Specifically, the crayon first, and then the boy.

"That's a big crayon. Hi."

He grins impishly.

The yo-yo seems to notice his glance, and makes a growling, mumbling noise.

"I think he likes you," Remiel offers, eyeing the thing, "but I wouldn't touch him just yet."

Yo-yo makes more mumbling noises and wiggles on the table.

The angel smiles.

"He's, ah, possessed. I'm not sure by what exactly. He's also fairly harmless, most of the time." Then, "My name's Remiel, by the way."

Yo-yo purrs and wiggles his string temptingly at Harold, as if to say, C'mon, pet me.

Yo-yo purrs. Not like a cat, but high and chirpy -- like a bird. His wiggling stops instantly.

"Yep, likes you," Remiel remarks, unnecessarily.

Yo-yo purrs a little louder, then, content for the moment. Remiel stays silent, watching them -- either wondering about Harold's being alone in the bar, or making sure the yo-yo doesn't attempt to bite him.

The possessed toy makes a vague mumbling noise, wriggling sideways a bit as if to say, now, a little to the left.

"Well, if he hasn't bitten you yet, I'd say you'd be safe to play with him -- d'you know how to walk one?" Remiel asks, smiling.

Pretty sure that his yo-yo hasn't been kissed before, the sudden lack of purring a tipoff, Remiel picks it up and has it walk across the table a short distance, demonstrating the hand motion and so forth.

Then he offers it, now purring again, to Harold. "Want to try?"

[identity profile] hope-halo.livejournal.com 2005-08-17 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
The angel makes a sympathetic face, as the yo-yo makes confused, chirping noises.

"Oh dear. Not the same, is it? Sorry about that, little guy."

He reaches down and begins the untangling process. When he's done, the yo-yo is back to mumbling discontentedly, its string wound back up into it.

"Yo-yo tricks are overrated, anyhow."

[identity profile] hope-halo.livejournal.com 2005-08-17 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, no worries. Here."

Remiel offers him the yo-yo to hold, and the mumbling decreases a little.

[identity profile] hope-halo.livejournal.com 2005-08-17 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
The purring starts up softly again, and it wiggles a little in his hands. Clearly enjoying all of the attention it's getting, today.

[identity profile] hope-halo.livejournal.com 2005-08-17 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
Remiel watches, smiling, as it purrs louder. Am I supposed to read your mind for your name, mate?

Yep, he can hear it.

[identity profile] hope-halo.livejournal.com 2005-08-17 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
To say that the yo-yo is perfectly content with the stroking and playing would be somewhat of an understatement.

[identity profile] hope-halo.livejournal.com 2005-08-17 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
The purring stops. In its place, there is a confused silence, and then a confused mumble. Possessed yo-yos are not often kissed, and this is twice in a row.

[identity profile] hope-halo.livejournal.com 2005-08-17 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
It makes a muhr? noise, and then, slowly, starts to make the happy noises again. But it's still confused, because they're somewhat less enthusiastic.

A short while later, Remiel glances at his watch regretfully. "I hate to say it, little buddy, but we've got to be going; things to do tonight. Catch you later, huh?"

Remiel smiles, accepting the yo-yo with a nod. "We're in the bar most nights, lately. And I know he won't object to more petting."

For the yo-yo is grumbling to itself.

"Stay safe, little one."

And with a reassuring wink, for he is the angel of hope, Remiel is gone.
