Chase, yawning, slouches down the stairs and takes a seat at the bar. "Just coffee and some toast, thanks."
The Bar obliges. Next to the toast, however, a small cupcake with a candle on it also materializes, with the number 27 written on it in frosting.
Chase blinks. It takes a few sips of coffee for this to register.
"Oh!" He grins, and bites into the cupcake. "Thanks, Bar."
Anyone want to come wish Chase a happy birthday?

Of course, Tony remembers quite well what he did to celebrate his birthday this year...
...he'd rather would just remember that Jack was nice and bought him dinner some time later.

"Not really. Probably just a nice dinner with Kim. I didn't have any plans."

Again, not mentioning what he did this year. Nope. Didn't happen.
At the mention of Kim, Tony looks down a bit. "Ah, listen, Chase, about Kim..."

Chase tenses, barely-perceptibly. "Yeah?" he says, his voice carefully neutral.

"I know I am," he says quietly.
The knowledge of what Kim and Tony did is always going to hurt. But he'd pushed it aside for the sake of fixing things with Kim, and while he doesn't have the advantage of being in love with Tony to help the forgiveness along there, it wouldn't be fair if he didn't at least pretend to start putting it behind him.
"She's...she's special like that."
