"You have islands on artificial pillars, on your world?" Asar-Suti asks, curious.

"Not on purpose," Ray says. "It just... seems to have worked out that way on mine. We had no idea."

"Your world sounds weird," ASar-Suti says, in the tones of deep approval.

"Given that it was attacked by a destructive Sumerian god who wound up taking the form of a hundred-foot marshmallow man... yeah. Yeah, it is." Ray smiles. "But it's home."

Asar-Suti looks embarrassed.

"Some of us gods can be quite weird," he admits. Marshmellow man! A hundred foot! What a totally odd idea.

"Well, in all fairness to Gozer, it wasn't entirely his idea," Ray says. "Gozer apparently had a policy of taking his physical form based on whatever first came into the mind of the people nearest to where he was manifesting, so that he could destroy them in a really ironic fashion. It, um... it was sort of my mind he got the idea from."

"That was very clever of you," Asar-Suti lauds him. "I mean, you could have been thinking of a giant spider."

Ray smiles wryly. "I tried to think of something that could never, ever hurt us, and Mr. Stay-Puft was always this beloved figure from my childhood. I never expected to see him stomping the crap out of midtown Manhattan, which is what he did until he got to us... but I'm glad somebody approves. Thank you, Sooty."

"Do the unexpected! That's better than being very strong, or having whopping great guns," Asar-Suti says.

His Ihlini had always known how to do the unexpected.

Ray smiles. "It's amazing how often that works," he agrees. "Even if it sometimes bites us in the ass when one of the ghosts does the unexpected first."

"Well, that can always happen," Asar-Suti grins. "I'd bite any ghost right back, of course."

"Well, yeah, but that's you," Ray points out. "I don't think they'd even notice if I bit them. Usually we scream a lot and then throw together a half-assed plan when that happens."
