Faith's in the bar, on the piano. Jazz tonight. At the moment, 'God Bless The Child,' and she's singing along.

Her Security Badge is clipped to her shirt, and her hair is braided again.

I can't really see how that would give a better angle unless she resorted to lying. Her idiotic attempt at a revolution had no valid cause and no hope of success, even if they had won. And for gods' sake, she waited until backup had arrived and it had nearly been decided that she'd managed to get away before shooting me . . .

"Well, it at least told me why she tried to kill you, which I didn't know before."

I remember telling you about that a while back . . . regardless.

"Did you? I must have forgotten...lot of stuff up here," Faith says, tapping her temple. "Time passes, things get lost, y'know."

Faith shakes her head.

"I think I've got it covered. I know to keep an eye on her."

Telling Snow she kind of likes her...probably a bad plan.

There is a difference between 'I kinda like her' and 'I think I'll join forces with her and overthrow the establishment.'

You're a trustworthy person, and you've certainly earned it.

Yes, well, the situation with the bears is definitely one Faith isn't likely to reproduce.

There's only one of her, for one thing.

"Well, we went after the Academy - I didn't get to use your sword, I'm sorry, it was too enclosed of a space and there were kids. But we won, anyway. And then Connor and I split up."

Do I need to offer to hurt Connor for you, or do you have that covered yourself?

Well, Fabletown secrecy laws and the part where I'm married to a man I love dearly aside. . . I doubt I would. But things are different in Milliways, things like lifespans didn't stop Morpheus and Moiraine from getting together.

Faith nods. "Yeah. Well. Slayer. I'll be lucky to see thirty, Snow. Better this way."

Milliways. You could have centuries together.

"But I can't just stay here. I can't just abandon my world. I have a duty, I have responsibilities. I have to...I have to go back, keep going back...until I can't anymore."

I never said you had to. But when you've fulfilled those responsabilities, done all you can do. . . there's nothing keeping you from resting here, after.
