*A witch walks into a bar and ~~says 'Ow!'~~ orders a Butterbeer before sitting at a table. She rifles through her bag and pulls out a copy of 'Which Broomstick' and starts to read.*

"I'm Raina." There's a small smile. She seems like she might be a little rusty when it comes to smiling.

Nice to meet you.

So now you know a bit about me, what about you?

"I am Mord-Sith." Which, in her mind, explains a great deal.

*She shakes her head.*

I'm sorry, I haven't heard that term before.

"We are...protectors of the Lord Rahl, who rules D'Hara." Raina tries to think of a way to explain things in a...reasonable manner. "We are equipped to deal with magical assassins."

So you're like a body guard?

"Yes." Raina sounds a little relieved. "Yes, much like that. Or I was. I'm dead now." Said very matter-of-factly.

Oh. I'm sorry.

"As am I. But I can't change it. And here is not so bad a place to be dead in." She can think of much, much worse...

No I guess it's not.

If you don't mind me asking, how did it happen?

"A man who wanted to enslave the world released a magical plague. I died from it." She makes a quick, calming gesture. "Don't worry, it didn't come in with me."

We have someone like that in my world.

"Tyrants are commonplace, I've found."

Unfortunatly. There have been two in my world in the last fifty years alone.

"Have you killed them?" she asks, quite matter of factly. Because in her mind, that's the logical thing to do.

One of them has been. The second is still alive. There are a lot of people trying to kill him.

Raina nods slightly. "I hope you can kill him soon."

So do I. The sooner You-Know-Who dies, the less innocents will be killed.

Raina gives her an odd look. "He doesn't have a name?"

He has a name, but people don't say it. We call him He Who Must Not Be Named or You Know Who.

"That's a little strange. Names don't really have power. It seems much like a scare tactic to me."

It is a scare tactic. It's almost as if people think that he'll hear you say it and come after you personally.

"Feh. If he had that much power he'd be just as likely to come kill you if you use some silly stand-in. People really are foolish sometimes." She doesn't add the standard 'no offense', as she honestly doesn't realise she may have said something offensive.

*She blushes.*

Maybe it is a bit foolish.

Raina nods once, as though to say 'of course it is'. Yes, she's that socially inept.

*She's quiet for a moment.*

How long have you been here?

"Several months now. I am slowly getting used to this place."
