There is a Cuthbert, sitting at the bar with dinner.

There is also a newly acquired leatherbound notebook in which things--mostly lists, from the look of it--are being written and occasionally scribbled out. Mostly in the High Speech, though he's also taking the opportunity for more practice writing English.

"'Cept purple!"

Thoughtfully: "Fuschia?"

How 'bout a base of pink, *Meg suggests, as a compromise,* with purple ruffles?

"Well, if . . ."

Anthy peers at Cuthbert.

"Are you a virgin?"

Cuthbert eyes her. "I fail to see how that is anyone here's business."

Patiently: "You wear white if you are. If not, red, and you're a scarlet gunslinger."

"Everybody knows that."

"What if I wasn't one and wore white anyway, huh? Or the other way around?" Cuthbert folds his arms, apparantly feeling contentious.

Anthy looks helplessly at Kaylee.

"Then that'd be uncouth, and nobody'd like it, and everybody'd talk. And ain't like Susan'd appreciate it."

It has become a look of eternal respect and gratitude.

Cuthbert perserveres. "What if I wore both?"

*Meg gives him a look.*

Look, God may will white over red, but fashion does not.

"I'm a rebel." Cuthbert tells her solemnly.

Anthy pauses, blinking.

"For the revolution of wedding fashion?"

"Ain't gonna make it with anyone anyhow." Kaylee shakes her head in disgust.

Anthy just looks sadly at Cuthbert.

"Everybody's hiding something, aside from me and Chuchu."

Kaylee nods judiciously. "That'd be shiny." Pause. "Can the purple part be sparkly?"

Of course sparkly! *Meg says firmly.* Couldn't be anything but. It'd set off his bright, shiny eyes!

- maybe he needs a sparkly veil, too . . .

Kaylee's eyes light up. "Ooh, yes!"
